This is an issue that arises with users here and there, and here is the answer:
Software does not need to be updated unless it is not working. WordPress has introduced an ecosystem where developers release half-tested plugins that work half the time, or have bugs, and cause issues.
Symbiostock is not developed in this manner. We have a thorough testing procedure with every release to ensure it is robust, solid software, and do not create new versions simply to appear busy. Accordingly, unless you are experiencing technical issues with your Symbiostock products, you can safely ignore any warnings you receive from WordPress.
Symbiostock along with Symbiostock Video is operating on thousands of websites right now without issue – are you experiencing any technical issues?
July 12, 2019 at 4:22 pm #34871July 12, 2019 at 4:06 pm #34868Hi Greg – licensing works generally through using the filters on the license edit page. Then they are added or removed automatically when you edit a product. Usually we do not manually add or remove licenses. I would suggest you try doing that. You can disable this functionality on a license basis by disabling auto filtering on it.
This will also solve the pricing issue you mentioned in the other thread.
July 12, 2019 at 3:59 pm #34866July 12, 2019 at 3:58 pm #34864Hi Greg – thanks for the suggestion. Due to the way WooCommerce works this sort of arrangement would be quite difficult, and the licensing functionality of Symbiostock is quite complex. It is possible to do this customization for your own shop if you know how to manipulate code, or hire someone to do it.
July 8, 2019 at 4:14 am #34844It’s a good question, and one I think people are not fully informed about – software should not need to be updated every month, and we view the Symbiostock and WooCommerce software package as a standalone solution for photographers and artists. As it is right now, if you want a stable, long term solution for your needs, the currently supported version of Symbiostock and WooCommerce works beautifully.
July 8, 2019 at 4:12 am #34843Hi Greg,
Although many plugins suggest that updates are necessary for security reasons, this is not the case a lot of the time, and the reason Symbiostock does not constantly update to match the newest version of any other plugin is that we have encountered many issues where in doing so, we actually introduced instability to our users as the third party plugin was released without sufficient testing.
So now, when we release an update to Symbiostock to correlate to an updated version of WooCommerce, we do extensive testing to minimize any issues, both with regards to Symbiostock and with regards to WooCommerce itself.
Unless there are necessary features required in upgrading WooCommerce, we do not prioritize keeping up with other plugin versions.

Regarding altering the historical thumbnails in bulk, this would have to be done using a third party plugin that interacts with WooCommerce products or one that edits WordPress images in bulk. Once a product is added to WordPress Symbiostock doesn’t have any control over it.
As for disabling this feature, please look into Symbiostock Settings under the Media tab and test and explore if disabling:
Sync Thumbnails to Titles
Works for you.
June 25, 2019 at 1:04 am #34789Hi Bob,
“Failed to write session data (files)” appears to be a hosting issue. This has nothing to do with Symbiostock. It is possible you have run out of disk space with your current host – either way, this is related to PHP being unable to cache sessions on the server, which is usually a disk error or disk space issue. Please contact your host.

No, as you said, you know how to add photos, and they get added as Symbiostock products. You said your question related to have them show up on the front end of your theme, which is something we have no control over. So are you successfully uploading your images to your upload folder, and is Symbiostock’s processor adding them to your WooCommerce store?
Also do I need to install woocommerce vendor plugin after installing Symbiostock Vendor Plugin
You do not need WooCommerce vendors, but if you do install this, it afford extra features and makes it easier for contributors to sign up:
https://woocommerce.com/products/product-vendors/
Once installed, go to Symbiostock Vendors settings and ensure that the WooCommerce vendors integration is enabled.
June 13, 2019 at 3:41 pm #34741Oh sorry, I misread- you also upload via FTP.
Okay, so can you confirm that you tried the video diagnostic and were able to see the completed video? This is a separate plugin:
