Good news, thanks Leo.
November 11, 2013 at 12:39 am #7233Great thanks for that 🙂
November 8, 2013 at 9:23 pm #7109I designed the different logo for Symbiostock.net for just that reason to give it a more neutral flavour and a visual graphic that represented the networked nature of the portfolio’s. Also to make it more branding friendly so it can be used in a variety of environments, clothing, multi coloured sites, web etc.
If anyone wants to run with the logo I’m happy to post up a branding pack with layered PS and Illustrator files, reverse out, mono and colour versions, watermark png etc if there is enough interest.
To answer the lack of updates on the .net site I was waiting for the Theme to settle down, search engine development and more ports to come online, which appears to be happening. I did have some thoughts on producing some marketing templates for people to use to drive their social media efforts but to be honest I’ve stalled waiting for the theme to settle first.
The .net site is a lot of work, I will update though at the next milestone 250,000 images online 🙂
November 7, 2013 at 2:00 am #6628I don’t really know what the procedure for open source is but wouldn’t a road map of the code be useful for coders.
Like where the CSS + PHP files are is for the image page, search results etc.
Then coders (tinkerers) can refine small pieces of the code and show them to the community for inclusion in version updates.
November 6, 2013 at 11:59 pm #6924Thanks guys, I’ll try this out and see how I get on.
November 5, 2013 at 9:28 am #6919I got as far as setting up a collection and adding images but couldn’t work out how to add the preview image?
By preview image I mean a custom comp image.November 4, 2013 at 5:27 pm #6864The nice thing is when you edit the table at – compareninja.com – the changes update globally through your site.
Seeing as you posted do you mind if I pinch your FAQ?
🙂
November 4, 2013 at 4:17 pm #4573Bump.
The network search results should be a high priority, the grads are interfering with being able to click through to the image.
Sorry Leo, I know your busy.
November 1, 2013 at 12:28 am #6612Wow Ruth, some lovely photography there, nice work!
November 1, 2013 at 12:24 am #6621Great idea.
Maybe we could use the forum for people to post up their code tweaks and test them on a Beta site that is live so we could see how it works. The best and most robust tweaks get into the next version update.
I’ve seen quite a few good site mods out there already, I guess ask to see if anyone is willing to donate their code for future version updates.
Is there an Open Source Coders forum anywhere that we could appeal to?
October 31, 2013 at 5:27 pm #6137Zoom is a low priority for me.
I happy with the theme as it is and would rather see the final touches like the ‘search results’ and ‘CSV data for search engines’ fixed and see Leo have a long deserved break from development.
Zoom IMO should be a third party initiative.
October 29, 2013 at 12:35 am #5437Wow, I’m shocked Amanda has received so much flack!
She has contributed massively to Symbiostock with her ‘guides site’ and ‘clean theme’ – seriously whoever is throwing their toys out the pram should think twice, we’re lucky to have her involved. Would be a massive shame to loose her, very disappointing to hear.
October 29, 2013 at 12:16 am #6396Ability to delete images from the batch editor – Managing duplicate / poor images would be much easier from the batch editor.
See all images at once, filter by date, price etc for managing large portfolios.
Like the others have said ‘pricing profiles’ that can be assigned to multiple images would be the ideal – Photoshelter works like this and it is really useful. Like Cascoly says this sounds like a lot of work though!
October 28, 2013 at 3:28 pm #6394Filter by date on the batch editor would be useful, so I can assign categories per batch uploaded on any specific day.
Ability to assign ‘rank’ independently – so I don’t mess up any other settings when improving my search results.License system is good, being able to edit any created licences would be perfect.
By and large the theme is becoming more and more user friendly, great work 🙂
October 25, 2013 at 5:40 pm #5322Totally agree, finish the WP theme and take a long, long break.
We’ll all still be here keeping the project going.
