thanks
when I do a search for ‘cape cod’ though, I still only get corbis RM, no other agencies, no independents — and it doesn’t include the one you posted? how did you enter the search?

I think that I would like to see just one result set (for both my images and everyone else’s). This would be just like the major agencies. My images would be displayed first of course, followed by everyone else’s.
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
we’re different from the agencies in that we’re trying to promote the network, so separate listings seem appropriate
also, if all are mixed in, how do you display multiple pages? do you display 24 of 100 from the host site, then 5 each from 10 other sites that each have 50 images? what would a ‘next page’ show?
the current display is a good compromise, just needs the little tweak to turn off automatic scrolling so that it’s less distracting
November 17, 2013 at 7:37 pm #6377you don’t need an account to get your numbers, but alexa does offer a ‘pro’ version with more details
your alexa info is tracked in your symbiocard file and I show a summary is at http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=66

You mean if you join PE? If I’m not mistaken you’ll find your own images (fetched from Symbio and rewatermarked) within 48 hours or so from signup (assuming you sign up on a weekday)
no, since PE is listing all the major agencies, our images from those agencies should show up in a search if we don’t have our sym site submitted. (if we join PE then our images should override any other listings of our images) this was from the buyer search screen…
but I was never able to find any non-corbis images on any search I did
has anyone found their images – sym or agency – in a PE search yet? when this was first released they had said only corbis images would be listed during the ‘beta’
November 17, 2013 at 7:29 pm #7636the sliding bars are redundant, since it also shows below that there are additional pages of images if there are more than 5
November 17, 2013 at 6:56 pm #2052my portfolio size doesn’t track with sales on the micros — the lower tier sites do poorly whrther I have large or small portfolios (eg most has 14,000, photodune 2500, fotolia 3000 and 123 12,000, yet all produce about the same amount of sales)
symbiostock is different since it doesn’t have the search recognition of long established sites, we’re relatively small in number, sites are very different in content, and sales are sporadic over a short period of time – so there’s no way to draw any statistically significant conclusions
I do think we’re on the right track by experimenting and reporting here what seems to work and what doesn’t
one report I’ll be adding soon is a comparison of an individual site’s keywords with the network keywords with the most views and listing often used keywords that the site is NOT using – can give suggestions for what keywords might be added
November 17, 2013 at 6:49 am #3266are there any images live for search besides corbis? I haven’t been able to find any of my images that are indexed by google with most of the agencies, but the search only returns a few images
November 17, 2013 at 6:44 am #7668were there any other changes from the buglist that we should be testing?
November 17, 2013 at 12:01 am #3262I talked with Justin a few weeks ago, and hope PE gets going and performs as it’s supposed to, but i’ll wait until there’s an actual working site. The main point Justin made is that PE will show only an image from the original artist if possible, and the same image on other sites will not be offered. When that works, PE will really offer an advantage for independents
November 16, 2013 at 8:25 pm #7657any changes to the search tracking? previous version still didn’t perform the way it was supposed to, not getting any info about where traffic was coming from; I’ve held off collecting from all the sites until this can generate some reports
meanwhile the tracking of views based on keyword is going well
http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=405November 15, 2013 at 8:28 pm #7634it’s an artificial limit, and I agree, it should be based on search & response time
eg, allowing more networked sites would let us finetune the search – linking with many more compatible sites, rather than searching the entire network (thru symbiostock.info) and displaying only a few of the results
perhaps this could be another feature of the pro version?
November 15, 2013 at 7:17 pm #7632we’re over 150 sites now — almost 20 added in the last coupla weeks!

For the stills, I normally use a frame out of the video. After effects allows you to save a particular frame as a PSD. I ten convert this to JPG. No need to set up a second camera.
Thanks for the info on the yoast plugin, i had no idea that was available.
right, that works for the still needed for the zip companion, but he was referring to offering the still alone as a product, and that usually isn’t as large as a distinct image
November 15, 2013 at 7:15 pm #6965I also use the word video at the start of all captions, so at least when people see the links such as those from http://symbiostock-search.com they’ll know, but it doesn’t help in the internal sym searches
November 15, 2013 at 7:57 am #6962both good suggestions – the thumbnails would probably be fairly easy (always easy to add to leo’s task list), don’t know what would be involved with the other. for now, i’m busy trying to get more of my pond5 video portfolio over to my sym site
separate question for all — in author settings, under focus, we currently have photography, vectors, 3d design and digital paintings choices — if we were to add another, should we call it ‘video’ or ‘footage’? I’ve created a video category but use both words in my promoted keywords
