You have to make me an admin account ( I should already have one from before ) leo [at] symbiostock.com
I’m trying to get caught up on help requests.
January 14, 2014 at 8:50 pm #8099I tried to log into your site, but I’m not getting the reminder email.
January 14, 2014 at 8:33 pm #8390I was wrong: The “.po” file is for your use, the ‘.mo’ file is what WP uses.
Here is a depthy answer: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/57219/how-to-translate-a-plugin-via-po-mo
I’m right now getting it to work, and Lucato is making Symbio’s first translation, so I’m learning a few things too.
Once I’m through the heavier stuff of this process I’ll be setting up a translation forum.
January 13, 2014 at 11:25 pm #8399Can you link to an example? Is it a file name or a link name…a title name? Given that info I can address it quickly.
January 13, 2014 at 11:23 pm #8090I might be going crazy, but whats the “voice” thing you speak of? I did notice that the dropdown isn’t working though.
Did it just suddenly turn off?
Your site is looking awesome as always btw. I wish I could send away for those dishes!
January 13, 2014 at 11:19 pm #8387Also this is a system I’m setting right now.
January 13, 2014 at 11:10 pm #8386After you’ve edited it, you can place it in the languages folder, over-writing the previous.
January 13, 2014 at 5:31 am #8259Tonight when I’m working in the translation accomodation, I’ll see whats happening that causes a resize during batch-processing. I might have knocked something out of order in previous changes.
PE – if things are set up you should be able to go through each page of your portfolio, select all, and generate previews. Having an option to create PE previews on-upload would be something I could implement.
Are you saying the PE implementation is giving you problems? Some people seem to have it, and others don’t. Talking with Justin, I was told the only problem he has is when he fetches updates from a Symbio-site during it’s processing time (generating sitemaps, etc)
January 13, 2014 at 4:03 am #8257When you toggle mass-editing, there is visual organization and some visual guides when you hover. Please let me know if there are any issues you have.
January 11, 2014 at 7:12 am #7927Hover previews updated. 1.3.5
A few people observed that the hover previews run off the page (now fixed)
Previews now work on all pages — it took some vast extension, but it works now.
Generally everything on the hover-preview subject should be working great now.
January 11, 2014 at 7:10 am #8116What is your website?
What versions of the basic/premium plugins are you using?January 11, 2014 at 1:23 am #8066Thats correct.
So you have the proper link inserted in the settings area and its still crashing in the process? That means (and I think you mentioned you already addressed this) that the memory for processing images might still be set too low.
January 11, 2014 at 1:22 am #8111Just an encouraging note — you’ve also taken a significant step in making Symbiostock more social-network oriented. Thats a big part in general internet success.
January 11, 2014 at 1:18 am #8115Hi there,
Not to interrupt the conversation with yourself 😀 Symbiostock uses the necessary meta-data on page. It uses the more modern standard of “semantic markup” which is more useful to search engines. If you run a test via google’s semantic markup tester, you’ll find you score quite high. We also use another system of meta-data “dublin core” which you will find floating around your site meta as well.
The reason the traditional stuff you mention is not used anymore, as you’ve begun to see, is that those metadata systems were abandoned only years after they took root – for the simple fact that they are selfishly exploited.
Google uses a lot of statistical algorithms to judge your categories of relevance, and a lot of off-site signals to determine your rank.
Even this stuff is becoming less useful as well, since the tides are turning toward social networks, and most traditional SEO is fading away.
Still, Symbiostock keeps a strong presence as much as it can, and is superior to a lot of the other packages, even the ones that tend to boast SEO.
January 10, 2014 at 6:48 am #5502I got your mysterious welcome email! I’ll log in quickly and see whats going on.
