Here’s a fairly substantial update. THREE new BIG things added — 2.7.4

Keyword view counter added. It logs to your daily keywords files (symbiostock_keyword_info.xml, symbiostock_keyword_info.csv) for hub search engines like AJT’s and Cascoly’s[/*]

Search log added – symbiostock_search_log.csv[/*]

Symbiostock standard plugins suggester/installer/activator added. This is really cool :D[/*]
For AJT and Cascoly – a note on the search log and keyword files.
In both the symbiostock_keyword_info.xml and symbiostock_keyword_info.csv have a new field added “Views” which record the viewcounts. Its very general – so even people browsing their own sites get counted.
Search log is a CSV file. Each line has 5 values:
- Keyword[/*:14zxjruq]
- Local (1) or Remote (2) search.[/*:14zxjruq]
- Referring (human search only). 0 if None, Site (string) if a referral.[/*:14zxjruq]
- Requester’s IP address (You can use this to get locations and bots as well)[/*:14zxjruq]
- Date and Time of Request[/*:14zxjruq]
This file is deleted on the 1st of every month, or when it exceeds 5000 lines.
Note: for this feature to work the attached/included plugin Symbiostock Category Meta must be installed.
great! lots of possibilities here, once we get the external databases upgraded

I just managed to download my image. So its working now 🙂
Just note, your top bar is blocking the top cart and login menu bar. If that makes sense.
I noticed this too when using chrome — my main page menu was overwritten – either went away or was fixed with 2.7.3

AND Yoast SEOyoast helps tune your pages, but the sy sitemap gets more notice from google
October 11, 2013 at 1:05 am #4184categories are alpha’d now — Great!
I still need to check on the delete problem there & for keywords
October 10, 2013 at 10:58 pm #4182I set up 2 zips yesterday — neither showed a price on the image page
upgraded to 2.7.3 1.2.2 today and now the second one shows a zip price, but the first still doesn’t.
I tried editing the price of the 1st, turning zip to unavail, saving, then turning zip back on – no change
the 2nd zip, the one that now has a price is http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image/collection-of-images-of-troy/ (it didn’t show a price yesterday, I changed nothing, but the price showed up today). the zip contains a bunch of low res images — about 10Mb
the first one is:
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image/stock-image-by-steve-estvanik-63/
this contains a zip of an mp4, about 200Mb
the video that appears on the image page is from youtube and displayed using the HWplayer pluginOctober 10, 2013 at 10:50 pm #3592I set cloud to use collections rather than keywords and placed it on the image page side
instead, the collections cloud appears at the bottom and just lists the titles, no images shown, and lets you click to indiv images — but no way for people to order the collection
on image page, image streches across the page, then below is the author page, and below that the ordering info that should be displayed on the side2.7.3 & 1.2.2
October 10, 2013 at 10:46 pm #1686here’s one that’s been around since at least 2.5.5:
description is doubled
takes 1 desc from iptc and other from xmp — eg,shows desc as:
Ski lift carries skiers to the high alpine mountains2
Ski lift carries skiers to the high alpine mountains 1the first is from xmp-description, the second from iptc caption-abstract
I had deliberately made the 2 different, but usually they’re exactly the same since I copy xmp info from iptc
always says ‘title found’ in processing

No the refund is in full, but you will lose 35 cent on the refund. But I dont need the refund, its only a couple of dollar. Consider it a fee for the work you did for us 😉
paypal refunds any fees in full — they just make 2 entries in your history
I have a business acct

Most developers dont do beta testing on public forums. I have no idea why this route was taken. Then, the forum was moved from msg and brought over here. It was suggested immediately that development and tech problems be only visible to members and not everybody. That hasnt happened, that i know of. I dont know why people continue to gripe about how SY is getting a bad rep because it looks buggy and needs a ton of work when no one seems to want to do anything about it. It is buggy and does need a ton of work, otherwise people would be uploading and selling and there wouldnt be all these threads!
Take all the developing off the public forum. When the theme works, release it. Simple solution. No bad rep.
not true — sym has SOME bugs, but hardly needs a ‘ton’ of work.
you haven’t done any software development if you think that ANY release will be the final, bug free one. napoleon said “no program survives contact with the users”. what we have now is a stable platform that people can use. the lack of sales has noting to do with the types of bugs beiong discussed here…
as far as public beta testing, many people do that – I’ve had public beta tests since the late 80s and have participated in many others. it’s one of the best ways to work, since lurkers will often inject a key insight or suggestion
i’ll start a separate thread though for issues having to do with plugins (though t’s not always clear where a problem might be)

Steve, if it helps you at all at the moment the categories are in the order they were created, so if you remember that one was made at the beginning or more recently, this might help you find it
right, thanks, but with 250 categories, it’s hard to remember whether I created ‘Utah’ before or after ‘forests’

October 9, 2013 at 8:54 pm #1667===== customizing header
— need sample of the different fonts – rather than guess/save/look/guess againheader problems (I had- only changed fonts):
on IE10,
scrolling main page runs over (superimposed) fixed header;
search button is on 2nd line of header menu, and wraps when there’s not enough room — entry box on right, ‘search’ button on left
main text is slighly cut off on left side when on a 19″ screen — widening the screen sets it right;
going to ‘full size’ gives full length but doesn’t change heights it appears t onot be adjusting to different window sizes very well
chrome – page goes under header; but the bottom status line is now at the top and it covers a line of the header menu
header image – lets you crop,(eg to 500 x 100) but then ignores your crop & takes a rectangle (eg 60/40) but actual header shown is just a strip from that 2nd crop
October 9, 2013 at 8:00 pm #1664just upgraded to 2.7.2 and 1.2.1 pro
upgrade went smoothly, but new problems crept in, mostly it seems with IE10
======
**** IE10 — video no longer works! it worked as expected yesterday (2.6.5) using HDW player. now it justs shows a ‘!’ in a circle that youtube puts up initiallyw chrome it works properly
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image/stock-image-by-steve-estvanik-63/=================
when listing only with a zip (with a jpg for display only); no price given at all==================================
*** image upload — doesnt give option to select & process onlinesays “doesn’t have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support.”
but i’m running IE10 with both quicktime & flash
— works with chrome
