I discount at least 80% — I figure most users who find symbio sites are not heavy use designers, so I want them to grab the collection which is set at 3-5 times the 1 image price. if designers start grabbing these ‘bargains’ I can always raise the prices. basically I see for most people it’s a choice between 1 image at $10 or 20-30 similar images at $30+ if I sold one set of each collection each month i’d be able to up my retirement travel budget from 10-12 weeks to 20 weeks per year
October 24, 2013 at 9:13 pm #6094I’ve added you to the global search at http://symbiostock-search.com
You can find other sites by specialty at
http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=72I also have a number of 19th anatomy illustrations
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image-type/humananatomy-images/October 24, 2013 at 8:35 pm #5951ok, multiple times install, etc — tried on another machine w IE10, and worked on first try, so came back to original and cleared cache & now it works for cascoly-images.com
however, in course of install/deactivate repetitions on other site, now have WSOD — reported in other thread

A special note on white screens – which some of you have been seeing.WSOD – White Screen of Death
If you see a whitescreen based on normal Symbiostock use, LET ME KNOW. These MUST be fixed. All future Symbiostockers will benefit from our patiently fixing the problem.
Tell me where it happened.
What you did at the time it went white.
…..trying to install 2.9.2 from 2.8.9 – at first installed ok, but reg screen wouldn’t accept click on blue register bar (login on same window does work)
worked ok on chrome, not IE10
tried multiple activate of 2012, the reactivate sym, deleting email plugin each time
no changes… so renamed theme/symbiostock while 2012 was activated, tried to do new inastall of sym 2.9.2 but got white screen, and that’s all I get for http://clipartcartoons.com
leo – I’ve sent you admin & pwd
October 24, 2013 at 7:22 pm #5948installed 2.9.2 from 2.8.9 ***** new register doesn’t work with IE10!
the new screen comes up, you can fill in the info, but it wont let you click on the blue bar to register — the cursor turns into ‘circle with slash’
also, even though you’re entering your password, it still says “password will be sent to you”
works as expected in chrome
October 24, 2013 at 6:43 pm #6074very odd
do you have the wp-meta-category and the related taxonomies plugins installed?
October 24, 2013 at 6:30 pm #5794if images were indexed on the first site, and the names are different, google will probably think your new site has duplicates – no penalty, but it will take some time for google to realize the old site isn’t there — you might submit a new sitemap of the old site if you can, showing no images
October 23, 2013 at 10:26 pm #5729I’ve always championed letting the user set the password immediately
if the user later forgets, there’s a link on the login page to send it to them
October 23, 2013 at 10:23 pm #2700the yoast sitemap defaults to 1000 images, the symbiostock one defaults to 2000; the 2nd image.xml is 1 for symbio, but 2 for yoast
for both additional image.xml are created as needed automatically. all are crawled by google

Could it have something to do with the fact that I created a site on another domain, submitted it to google and then later closed it down and created this new site on a new host to get Paypal IPN to work?
if it’s an identical domain name that should be ok, once all the DNS servers are updated, which can take a week or more
but you said google DID index 2000 of your images before? that’s not unreasonable
the 26000 probably comes from redundant links on your pages — eg, if you have headers or footers that have internal links, each of those will be submitted. it doesn’t affect anything. it’s the pages indexed that are actually searchable
October 23, 2013 at 6:21 am #5643thanks – many of these will be older images that run about 4MP, a few even less, but still more than suitable for many purposes

minor problem: [symbiostock_upgrade] when some users do an upgrade I get 3 identical emails announcing it
I don’t know much about it but a thought pops up in my head. Could it be from the test sites people have currently? Could that generate the additional notifications?
Jo
these have all been identical emails from the one site each time it happens
October 22, 2013 at 9:11 pm #5075that might be it — there’s usually no need to activate the new theme, though if you do it thru the update rather than using a new zip
as isaid, it’s minor, but could start adding up as the network grows
October 22, 2013 at 8:47 pm #5784my indexed images have been holding at about 75%, for about 4500 images — that’s well above what I saw on either my cascoly.com or smugmug site. my xml sitemap files are checked by google at least every other day, my other sites only hget checked weekly, so symbio is getting noticed by google
. google never promises to index all images or pages. it may depend on the content, title, competition, etc , but 0% would indicate something’s not working
under the sitemap section of webmaster tools does it say all pages and images have been submitted?
