I’m looking forward to migrate to the new Symbiostock version but despite the download link on the front page there is no download available 😛

Php 5.3.x is recommended for Symbiostock, many of us use even 5.4

Is there in Hostgator cpanel any option to change it?

    Update:

This error occurs in php up to 5.3, so try to upgrade to 5.4

Meanwhile anyone with php older that 5.4 should not upgrade Symbiostock to 3.1.1

If you cannot upgrade php to 5.4, do this:

    1. Take this file and save it somewhere in your computer:

    http://www.ajotte.com/interpreter.ph

    2. Rename it to interpreter.php

    3. Fire your ftp program, connect with your account and go to folder

    … /wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/network-manager

Upload interpreter.php to this folder, replacing the one that is there.

Thanks so much ajt!!! It appears to be working fine now!

Do I need to know why your PHP file is not included in the 3.1.1 update? Wouldn’t that version be more versatile?
I don’t have to understand it though. I’m happy the site works again.

    Thanks again! 😀

I wanted to revive this thread to emphasize how important it could be to Symbiostock to be able to handle footage as well.

I cannot wait to add my footage to the site but I really would like to have my video previews on the top where the previews have to be placed at the moment.

I’m sure Leo could make this happen. It was mentioned already to add an option during upload to let the system know that the clip has to replace the preview image.

Naturally we would upload watermarked previews and a zipped full HD version for sale.

It would be fantastic if we could pick/upload a still frame for search the results and an autoplay-hover-preview on the search results page.

I’m willing to pay for this upgrade since not every Symbiostocker will need this feature.

I ignore it as I do not use all the plug-ins it recommends

I will do so the same from now on 🙂

    Happy New Year!

Go to your plug-in page on WordPress and scroll down to see if they got deactivated during the upgrade. I think that was happening with the cart and and it needed deactivation after every theme upgrade.

Hi KLSbear, I tried deactivating and then activating the Sitemap plugin and it didn’t make a difference. The notification is still on the top of the page stating I should install it.

Like I mentioned before, the Sitemap plugin shows up in my ladybug menu and it appears that the plugin is creating 2 xml sitemaps so I assume it is working.

Just wondering if I can just ignore the notice on the top of the page…?

Really? So if I try it again now, I shouldn’t experience this issue anymore?

Thanks to you two. I’m just using a custom CSS file that I wrote myself and nothing else.

I have no problem re-doing the menues.

The last time, not using the meta plugin, my back-end completely turned white. Only because I was still logged on as admin I was able to navigate through the settings (hitting the back button) but other users (like Leo who also has an admin account) couldn’t even log on.

This experience scared me a lot. I do have a second Symbiostock site which is pretty much dead anyways, so I can use that one as a test site.

I just feel like that so many updates and new features have been implemented that I’m completely out of the loop in regards to the capabilities. I feel like an old fart who looks at a CD and says -What the heck is that?

    😐

pretty sure you have to have analytics running to get reports thru webmaster tools — make sure you’re verified

sometimes the verification stops and you should see a warning on web tools about that; I’ve had it go out on my smugmug acct several times now

Both my Analytics and Webmaster Tools accounts have been verified and show data, but not all data…

I just added you to my site sat or yesterday. If it doesnt show in webmaster tools, maybe on the next crawl?

Thanks Cathy, I will keep an eye on it.

The first Analytics block is coming from Yoast’s SEO plugin which should be fine.

I have no clue why the second appears in my code…

The last two code blocks referring to Analytics are coming from the Elegant Zazzle Widget. I coulnd’t find any settings inside the widget to change or configure it. So I’m lost how to deal with it as I would like to keep that plugin… :O

I took a look at the page source for one of your pages and it seems that you have four different Google Analytics scripts.

My website only has one script for Google Analytics.

Whoops, I just checked and this shouldn’t be like that. I’m taking a look at it now.

Try Google analytics as well as webmaster tools

I’ve been running both for months and I thought they were set up correctly… ugh

    I do have links to

Search Traffic -> Links to Your site and
    Search Traffic -> Internal Links

    around 950 and 850 links

All I did was pasted the Google code into my Symbiostock site, that is about as far as my software skills go. I’m sure somebody will come by and help you more than I can with the technical stuff.

Oh boy, I know that I once pasted some code into my Symbiostock site as well. I think it was part of Google Analytics.

I ‘m using Google’s Analytics Dashboard for WP in my back end to see all the latest data which is really cool.

However, I discovered the “Links to your Site” feature in Google’s Webmaster Tools but it still doesn’t give me any stats.

Just now I connected my Google Analytics account with my Webmaster Tools account. No idea how this is beneficial or necessary as my Webmaster Tools for my site was already (partially) working7set up?!?!

No idea what the particular differences are between Analytics and Webmaster Tools. It all looks the same to me… somewhat. Not that I need to know that, I just would like to get data about other sites linking to mine…

    Any ideas?
