Hi Leo – I too have been away for a few days and am relieved to hear that you will not be starting afresh just yet.
This may already have been covered elsewhere, but to my mind one of the biggest drawbacks of our network is the need for buyers to register for each separate site in order to buy images. If I was a buyer that would put me off for sure. If there was some way for the registration part to be valid network-wide then that would be amazing.
Regarding attracting more people to the network – I think the MSG earnings leader board will do that once people start to report their sales there.
It doesn’t look at all depressing to me Shelma. I am quite encouraged by it.
There doesn’t seem to be an immediate solution to this so how about disabling that image and re-uploading it, perhaps with a slightly different title? Would that do it?
Thanks for all your efforts Leo. Perhaps this is a good time for consolidation – to allow the project to stand still for a while with just bugs being worked on. That would give the opportunity for all the wiki guides etc to be updated to follow the current version and for all information to be brought together into one place again. I know it all makes perfect sense to you because you are so involved in it, but for someone coming in cold it can seem quite disparate and muddled with the info scattered over various threads and guides and also split between MSN and here. If we want to attract as many new people to the network as possible then a completely fool-proof step-by-step guide for those with no previous experience of this sort of thing would be beneficial. I know that was set up previously, but I have found quite a few errors and omissions as I have worked through it as a result of later software updates that have changed the landscape.
I have been working whenever possible on my site and hope to have it up and running shortly. As a single parent though I do find that the sort of concentration time that is required to learn a new thing like this is a bit thin on the ground so it is taking me a while! I am still very excited by this project though and can’t wait to get my site open for business. It has even got me excited about shooting stock again.

Just to clarify – I think Leo is referring to the settings tab on the Symbiostock menu, not the settings menu itself on WP.

I was using the media option. Sorry I should have said that. I got a new computer recently and don’t have ftp set up on it so that would be a bit of a pain. 🙁

CheersI would agree with you there – I have also found that things are moving on so fast that quite a lot of the information that is out there is outdated or contradictory now. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I do understand that those who have set things up don’t have unlimited time to devote to such niggles and sorting out bugs etc that affect the sites already trading is far more important.
Although this project has been running for a few months we are definitely still at the ‘pioneer’ stages, which is exciting but a little more challenging. Best of luck with it and please come back and ask questions if you get stuck.
