No, it’s not about whether WordPress can handle it or not – it’s just that with Symzio the database structure has been formulated from the perspective of being a search engine. WP can handle it, you may just need to do some searching for a custom plugin that allows you to do that.
The media type, for example, is a post meta entry that is attached to each product. So you would need to customize a search by post meta where the media type is video, or image etc.
I just did a quick search and this came up:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-meta-searcher/
I’m not saying you should use this plugin, but it’s just an example.
As for whether WP can handle that many entries, it should not be a problem. I can’t guarantee anything because it also depends on the server you’re running on, but Symbiostock does not add much overhead at all to the base WooCommerce system when it comes to the front end.
This discussion:
http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/64592/woocommerce-store-with-30-000-products
Outlines that people run WooCommerce with over 250,000 products without issue.
As for making the mouse over the way you want, that is completely front end specific, and we don’t really get involved with that. You would need to customize the front end yourself in that regard. Again, Symzio does not run on WP so the way it works cannot be ported.
January 19, 2016 at 4:59 am #25500Symzio is not based on WordPress and was coded from scratch – to use any third party plugins with WordPress is a touchy issue especially with custom themes. But Symbiostock Express already has a Masonry type thumbnail view built in as far as I know.
As for the search – same thing. The way media is stored in the database in WP is completely different than Symzio which makes it difficult to customize in the same way. It’s do-able, just not something we have the resources to do right now as we’re focused 95% on marketing Symzio.

You can have any number of licenses attached to any product or media type – just create more licenses in the Symbiostock > Licenses page, and under filters make sure the video option is checked.
If you want to manually provide special download links for those, just click ‘physical product’ under that license’s options and Symbiostock and WooCommerce will treat that purchase as a non-digital one, so you will have to manually fulfill it.
As for getting the previews to play from the thumbnail pages, due to the different ways in which themes operate, we tried to keep the front end as simple as possible. This is something we’d look into adding in the future, but for now is not something we will be focusing on. It can be custom coded, however, if you are comfortable with it.
January 17, 2016 at 4:06 pm #25488I just checked Sell Media S3 and just so you’re aware, it just backs data up to S3 – it does not appear to store it there for live use:
Note: Files will be saved locally as well. Original size images are stored in wp-content/uploads/sell_media and are protected. Thumbnail images are stored in wp-content/uploads/ and have public access.
So that means that S3 serves as a backup for your files, not the live repository with that extension. We’ll look into how we can integrate it with Symbiostock.

We haven’t yet had a chance to update all the documentation on our new plugins, but I’ll try to answer your questions as best as possible.
Did you activate the video plugin?
Once activated, you won’t notice a large number of changes except for some additional options in certain places with regards to video functionality. The main big change is when you upload a video, the video gets parsed. There are no additional things you need to do other than upload videos just as you would images.
If you are still having issues, just PM me your login info and I’ll take a look to see what may be wrong.
January 16, 2016 at 9:05 pm #25481January 16, 2016 at 5:52 pm #25478As there is no clear answer as to why this may be happening, here is a thread you can perhaps look at:
There is a known issue that when someone first comes to the download page after checkout there is no download link – however download links are provided via email and if that initial checkout completion page is refreshed. I don’t know if that is your issue or not.
January 16, 2016 at 3:17 am #25476I should get to writing a guide, but there’s so much work to do.
The way the submitter works is a bit different than what you’re looking to do, although you could do what you’re looking to do.
So, once you add whatever agencies you want to your Symbiostock > Settings, let’s assume you don’t have any media types checked (there are raster, vector and video checkboxes under every agency).
In this case, no matter what you do, nothing will get sent to any of them.
Say you have ‘submit automatically’ unchecked and you then enable ‘raster’ on one of the agencies.
Even now, nothing will get submitted.
If you go to edit one media file and under the stock agencies tab click ‘include in submissions’ and click submit, then the system will now automatically submit that file to the agency you added that has ‘raster’ enabled.
If, after this point, you were to then enable ‘raster’ on another agency, that image would then get automatically sent to that agency too.
Once it is sent, the checkboxes for that agency and that media file will then become checked. So those checkboxes are not there to indicate what agency to send it to – they are there to tell you what agency it has been submitted to.
The entire way this works is primarily so you have a set of agencies, and some of them work for certain media types and some for others, and when you add and publish any new media, it automatically gets submitted to those agencies. It’s not really meant to be manually managed, although as per the explanation above, it can be.
January 15, 2016 at 4:36 pm #25473Have you checked the boxes for what media types you want sent to each of these different FTP servers?
Have you checked the box that says ‘Submit automatically?’
Have you checked the individual products to see if any of the checkboxes by the names of the different agencies are checked?
Are the items published?
January 15, 2016 at 5:49 am #254691) If you are uploading into the root directory of whatever server you are connecting to, you don’t need any folder. If you do have a folder, then you enter it without a previous or trailing slash. So, for example, if the ftp server location is: http://ftp.agency.com/uploads you would put http://ftp.agency.com as the server and uploads as the directory. If there’s a space, just putting up loads should work.
2) Once you edit an image, on the left there will be a tab that says Stock Agencies – you just open that and it will have checkboxes that say whether it has been submitted to that agency or not.
3) No – if it is checked, that means it was successfully already uploaded and will not get re-submitted. You can un-check it if you want the system to re-submit it.
January 14, 2016 at 12:08 am #25456January 13, 2016 at 7:14 pm #25453Regarding the first thing – in most sites that use Symbiostock, you’re just using the description field anyways for all the meta descriptions, so is what you’re suggesting adding a means of shortening the description so that it fits the meta description more accurately?
Instead of %%excerpt_only%% why don’t you just put %%description%% and let the SEO program cut it off?
As for #2, this is entirely dependent on how Google reads your site, and therefore based on your navigation and theme. This site for example:
has all the proper titles and descriptions showing up for it in Google images. It may also take some time if your site is newly launched.
