Great news! 🙂
Glad you found a way to market Symbiostock. Themeforest is fantastic, I get all my clients’ themes there.June 4, 2014 at 7:08 am #11382works well for me, too
(Contact Form 7, SYS 3.3.5 with Child-Theme, WP 3.9.1)May 20, 2014 at 10:04 am #11284Works wonderfully with Hostpoint.ch!
Thanks and Cheers,
DavidApril 30, 2014 at 12:30 pm #2211Congrats, Steve! Let’s ride that wave!! 8)
April 30, 2014 at 11:16 am #10922Oliver, the email i got from your website with the registration details says only: “Username: Test David Password: pQUvHAazL9MN http://www.of-stockphotos.org/wp-login.php“, without any formating. Registration emails from my side (and others, that are working more or less) generate a nice formated email with logo etc. Maybe somehow this emailer thingy hasn’t updated properly. Just a written thought.
April 30, 2014 at 11:04 am #10923Ezeepics, I have created a “naked” Symbiostock installation on a test server, where I can fool around.
If you want to, you can create a temporary admin accout and send me the login at info@vectorcat.com, so i can compare things like plugins, codes etc. I won’t touch anything, just have a look at the codes (but can’t promise anything…) DavidApril 30, 2014 at 9:51 am #10928Hi Oliver, I did a test registration and yeah, you get the random created password even with a “correct” registration… I see that you use a Captcha plugin in at registration window. Did you try to turn this off and register without it, too? I just wonder if that could be involved, since we have the same WordPress and SYS versions. Cheers, David
April 30, 2014 at 7:51 am #10918Hi Leo and co. and thanks for your very much appreciated support! 😀
I did as mentioned above:
1. Deactivated and then deleted the Symbiostock emailer plugin
2. Switched to a WordPress theme
3. Reactivated my child-theme
4. The message shows in my dashboard to install the emailer plugin and reactivate the cart plugin. I did so.Results (as it was before):
1. A user how registers correctly (with an accepted username, email address and password)
1.1 will see the green ‚Registration OK’ bar on top of my symbiostock site with the link to the customer area. The user is now logged in and can/could complete a purchase.
1.2 I receive an email with the users chosen login name and email address.
1.3 The user receives an email with his/her chosen login name and his/her chosen password.
1.4 The chosen password works fine to log in.
1.5 User happy2. A user how’s first attempt to register goes wrong because:
– he/she either uses an already registered email address
– a username already taken
– uses characters like +“*ç%%&( in the username (these letters work for the password)
– …?2.1 will be taken to the official WP login page: [/wp-login.php?action=register] with an error message.
2.2 can/will now fix the error mentioned in the message
2.3 if done correctly will be redirected to my symbiostock website and
2.4 will see the green ‚Registration OK’ bar on top of my symbiostock site with the link to the customer area. The user is now logged in and can/could complete a purchase.
2.5 I receive an email with the users chosen login name and email address.
2.6 The user receives an email with his/her chosen login name and randomly generated password.
2.7 Neither the chosen password or the generated password work to log in.
2.8 User probably not happyI tried also to hit the back button on my browser (only tried Safari on Mac) and adjust the error in the symbiostock register/login page, but alas I am sent to the WP login page with the message: „Please make sure both javascript and cookies are enabled in your browser.
Use the back button to try again…“I’ll continue doing some test with „ss_password_1“ and „wp_generate_password“ until anyone else can solve this. 😉 Heads up everybody!!!
April 30, 2014 at 4:45 am #11012Thank you, Steve, for that much appreciated list! I checked the symbiocard.xml file and it’s all correct.
April 25, 2014 at 5:24 am #10971I did some tests, too with different browsers on Mac – Safari, Firefox and Chrome – all the latest versions. SYS 3.3.4. I also cleared caches and reset browsers for every test and used different e-mail addresses.
What I found out is:
– for all 3 browsers the same results.
– when I create a user with a correct user name and password all goes well and i get an e-mail with my chosen password and I can login.
– when something goes wrong at the registration process, like:
– – try to register with an e-mail already registered,
– – browser set on cookies „not-allowed“,
– – user name contains special characters,
a new window opens with the error message and your chosen login data, that you can now correct.– after correction and registration, every time and on every browser, the registration e-mail contains a generated password.
– neither the generated password or the chosen one do work to login.
I hope my english is understandable and these tests may be of any help for solving this issue.
David
April 24, 2014 at 9:42 am #10965The message „*A password will be emailed to you.“shows on the registration pop up window (which I could set in CSS on „display: none“ actually). The password that is sent in the e-mail is the same as the chosen one, so the correct one. I have SYS version 3.3.4 if that helps.
April 23, 2014 at 4:06 pm #10908Hi Tim,
difficult to say. I have IP addresses that try to log in, in regular interwalls with different ‘normal’ user names, these IP addresses I definitively block.April 23, 2014 at 2:17 pm #2198Congratulations! That’s very motivating! 😀
April 20, 2014 at 5:15 am #10881Thank you Steve!
