As far as I know I don’t have an account at Getty so I’ll have to send a ticket to IS to remove my images from Getty. Sending a request to Getty won’t work, I’m sure. Thanks for mentioning photo.com Christine, now I find my images there as well 🙁

I have a feeling that IS and the rest of the Getty family are going to do the same as Getty, giving away our images.

I have always been pretty happy with IS till Livingstone, the founder, left. Hate to leave IS but maybe that’s the shotest cut, have to think about this for a while. Not very happy here.

This building looks like in Poland, rusty, old, dilapidated… I never take photos of that ruins because I think it’s too dirty, bad, ugly to sell… I have a lot of work to catch up now 😉

Do you know (how do we know) how did client find it? Where’s client coming from?

This is an image I took in Hungary. Just love walking around these run down industrial and residential areas. This is hard to find where I live, buildings that are not used are usually torn down within a day. We like to keep things tidy here, everything greasy and rusty is removed very fast 😆
Better take pictures in Poland before you take over our habits.

On the paypal receipt you’ll find the clients details, so I know where the client comes from.

    First image sold!

So much sweeter selling via your own site than via an agency. Gives me more energy to work on my site.

Maybe a funny image for some of you but these kind of images sell pretty well:

I have the error 0 back again. 🙁

I made a log file last year to catch PHP errors and just noticed it was 10 MB big now and full of MYSQL errors like:

[01-Feb-2014 10:10:28 UTC] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM wp_postmeta
    WHERE
    (meta_key = 'symbiostock_rating' AND meta_value = 3);
    made by do_action_ref_array, call_user_func_array, update_symbiocards, symbiostock_save_network_info, network_manager->generate_network_info, network_manager->count_images

I looked up “MySQL server has gone away for query” and found this page:
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/gone-away.html

For me to find a solution for this error is too much as the list of possible causes is huge. Could even be a bug in Symbiostock as I read.

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Ah yes, I see.

Oh wait, just did a Ctrl-F5 in the browser and it now shows:
    232

Have no idea what caused this but it should be all ok now, I hope.

your symbiocard.xml file still lists 0 images and you symbiostock_image_info.xml file is empty too — you might try doing a new update (bottom of symbio/networking page)

    then look at http://www.jbstockimages.com/symbiostock_image_info.xml

    and http://www.jbstockimages.com/symbiocard.xml

if it still persists – leave a message in the bug stomping thread in development

I noticed there was an update from 1.3.3 to 1.4.6 that seemed to be the solution. The update gave the images a bang on the head, or something like that 🙄

    It works again.

btw, alot of updates in a short while! From 1.3.3 to 1.4.6.

As the title says my site is not indexed any more at symbiostock.info

I have been away a while so maybe I missed so important info about changes or something else.
symbiostock_network.csv and symbiostock_image_info.csv are still in the root folder.

    Using version 1.3.3

    Any ideas?

Symbiostock.info reports 24 attempts of fetching csv files from your site, but they were empty all the time. Now it is ok, maybe because you updated to 1.3.3, I don’t know.
One thing: your symbiocard has 0 in field “symbiostock_num_images”.

Ah.. I see my site is indexed again!

I also see that my image count on your site, symbiostock.info, is correct. On my site it says that my Portfolio = 0. Has this something to do with: has 0 in field “symbiostock_num_images”? If so how can I correct this?

    Thanks so fat ajt!!

Sorry for bringing up this old post.

I am not a big fan of social sites and all the work it brings if you do marketing on all these sites, but I do what I have to do 😐

I am really confused about the negative approach towards Pinterest. I may be daft, but if I place a watermarked image there what is the difference if I post the same watermarked image on my own site, FB, G+, Twitter, etc, etc.

    Got everything running again!!!!
    So glad.

As a Linux guy I was utterly frustrated that I couldn’t find any errors on my site. No error messages or any log files to be found!!
On Linux I ALWAYS check the terminal and/or the log files for errors. The logs are great because 90% of the errors can be found here.

I just needed some logs for WordPress. I made a php-errors.log file and there I had my PHP error within one second:
[16-Nov-2013 22:20:51 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 45 bytes)

Oh well, should have known this. I did learn something with this, if I ever make a new WordPress site I’ll first make log files just like on my beautiful Linux box.

I found this error just in time because I nearly gave up on this Symbostock project. Now to recreate my Symbiostock Network as they are gone, don’t know why. No log file for that 🙂

but your xml ISNT blank- it’s some other html code, but with no html/body — it starts by listing your categories

that’s what I saw when I first looked at it, and it’s still that way now

also yoast produces a series of different xmls — are you sure you haven’t turned some of them OFF? eg, under exclude taxonomies

How do you see that the xml isn’t blank? I did an ‘Inspect Element’ and view source on http://www.jbstockimages.com/sitemap_index.xml, I can only see, well nothing.

I have read hundreds of threads now about blank xml pages and left without a solution.
I do know that with the the default WP themes I have no problems but as soon I switch to Symbiostock I have a blank xml page again.

I have another site where Yoast xml works fine and I copied the settings to make sure Yoast is not the problem.

    All ideas are welcome.

    Thanks Christine,

I have the same as you.

I have just closed down Yoast XML. Utterly fed-up with it. It just started to submit 1 image to Google, with 0 indexed. And then, puff, sitemap_index.xml page is blank again. Have a feeling that months of indexing is lost.

    Thankfully symbiostock_image_sitemap.xml still works.

I have Google XML Sitemaps working now since yesterday but it’s still Pending. Hope this does a good job!

first, you don’t lose months of indexing — once indexed, google keeps checking those pages

but there’s something wrong with how you’ve set up yoast

http://www.jbstockimages.com/sitemap_index.xml should produce an xml file — instead it gives a truncated html page — that would be why it’s ‘blank’ when submitted to google which expects an xml

another thing to check is that permalinks are set to ‘post’

haven’t used google xml — just make sure it indexes both pages & images

I only use Yoast with default. Permalinks are set to ‘post’.

Yoast does produce a xml file but using all Symbiostock themes it turns to blank within an half hour or if you use Ctrl-F5. Ctrl-F5 has no affect at all when using other themes.

When it produces an XML then Google WT has no problems, when there is a blank, HTML, page WT gives a error 500.
So when the cache refreshes it’s gone.

I am afraid that I didn’t notice this error for a long time.

    Guys,
I need some help here. My pages are never going to found with sitemap_index.xml
Ctrl-F5 turns it into a blank page, see post#18, but now I noticed it also turns blank after about a half hour. Google Webmaster returns an error 500 when it shows a blank page.

I am having horrible site impressions and this could be a reason.

I have tried about everything I can think of and am thinking of filing a Symbiostock bug report. But where can I do that?
