    Richard,
I needed to make quite extensive changes to the single product page and I did this by adding an edited Woocommerce variable.php file to my child theme.
The original file is in: wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php
I placed the copied and modified file as Woocommerce suggests: “This template can be overridden by copying it to yourtheme/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php.”
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Robin.
No, the site has been built virtually from day 1 with Symbiostock; all images have been uploaded in the recommended way via ftp to the uploads folder. So I am still unsure why when the license is set as downloadable and applied to a product, then product is not set as downloadable. As mentioned maybe a quirk of running a later Woocommerce version than advised.
Anyway, all appears well aside from that, but remain watchful that products are individually labelled as downloadable.

I’ve made some progress and here’s more info in case others encounter this.

For testing I’d set-up a £1 license (not keen to keep testing with £60 payments!) and applied this to one test image only.
I had also created a £60 coupon test so I could check the £60 license on any existing images.
I have since created a coupon for the £1 test to narrow down likely causes.
I was surprised that the £1 coupon test failed to produce a download link (the £60 coupon had worked).
Checked in license settings to confirm that the £1 license was actually set to be a downloadable product, it was.
However, whilst checking over the test-image product (there’s only one specially uploaded for this purpose), I almost accidentally discovered that the product (not the license) was not checkboxed as downloadable within the licenses section (if I could upload an image I would because it’s not obvious and hidden behind the dropdown for each license.
I am not sure why this was not shown as downloadable because the license is set as downloadable in the license settings (remember we are in the product settings here). All the other licenses for this product are; they re also checked ‘virtual’ too whereas the £1 license wasn’t.

So, if you are still with me, emails are now delivered with download link (yipee!!).
I am unsure why when the license is set to ‘downloadable’, the info doesn’t seemed to be passed through to the actual product in the license section; maybe that’s a Woocommerce version issue, but I can live with it.
I still have the remaining question, is there a Symbiostock upgrade in the pipeline?
I think I am happy to proceed without the hassle of downgrading assuming nothing else crops up, but welcome advice.

    Thanks again,
    Graham

    Thanks Robin,
Apologies for slow response, my reply notification went into my spam.
I’ve edited the config and all seems well now.

    Thanks Robin,
    I removed the https.
I can preview html files fine, but couldn’t get WordPress to work at all (Internal Server Error 500).
I removed WordPress and the site will show html files, but no php.
I’ve uploaded a phpinfo file, but that throws an error too (500), as does any php file I’ve tried so far.
Any help much appreciated, because until I can get this working, I can’t progress with the site move at all.
    Thanks,
    Graham

    Thanks Robin,
I wasn’t expecting a reply at the weekend so thanks for that.
Yes, I’ll take this opportunity to move to https.
I’m going to start with a clean install and fresh db, and then upload the pics so everything is clean and tidy.
I was intending to preview the site so I can get it all working before changing dns.
For other sites I usually edit my host file to preview, but this seems inoperable, is that method blocked? If so is there another way you can offer to preview before dns changes?

    Graham

    Thanks Robin,
If we are short of resources then I’ll need to make better provision. I’ve ordered hosting via Symbiostock, and will set about moving the site over.

    Robin,
I now have some feedback from the hosts; I’ll pm the details to you.
I’m wondering why there’s such a load on the server just to change prices and/or details of a license.
At the moment we have 127 images on the site and we’re planning to offer 2000+.
Should the system ideally be able to handle that many?
I am anxious that assuming I get over this issue then I will not be able to viably make changes to licenses when there are many more images to process.
I, and my client, are quite heavily invested in Symbiostock given the amount of time it’s taken to work with it so far.
I like the product very much — but of course it has to work efficiently to be a viable option for us.
Should we really be looking to use an alternative?
Any pointers to getting things running smoothly will be much appreciated, as too is your opinion on whether I’m using the wrong tool for this job and should cut my losses.
    Many thanks,
    Graham

    Thanks Robin,
Before I do anything else, I’ll contact the site hosts to see if they can determine what’s happening with the processing.

Many thanks Robin, that’s very helpful.
I just need to sort out the updating issue now, that’s very frustrating.
It’s weird, it must be working partially, as some of the products have updated, but most haven’t after 2 days.
I’m thinking the simplest way round that is to delete all the images and upload them all again (although not a long-term fix as the client will no doubt want to alter prices at some point.)

    Thanks Robin,
I made a workaround of sorts by changing the name of attribute ‘License’ to ‘Price’ (but kept the slug the same).
I’ve also placed a modified Woocommerce variable.php file in my child theme.
I’m interested in your comment about Javascript and CSS options, I think that’s the preferable option, so any pointers there would be useful, thanks.
Here’s an example product page: http://www.guygriffithscollection.com/product/73-651-s-j-lawrence-bentley-silverstone-11-07-1953-jpg/
The site is password protected at the moment while under development; I’ll send the login via pm to you.
    Many thanks,
    Graham

I discovered I can change it by unchecking “Personalize Interface” and then I see a new ‘attributes’ item within the Symbiostock section of the WP dashboard. Selecting attributes enables me to edit ‘License’ to ‘Price’.
Thought I had the answer, but now I cannot edit the licenses.
    Any ideas?

    Robin,

    Many thanks for your assistance.
Not wanting to admit my own stupidity, but I will do, just in case somebody else does the same (unlikely I know).
The site was password protected prior to launch; I guess that messed things up somewhat.

    Apologies.
