    Thanks for that Robin,

you are right about the cached version so that’s the white space mystery solved.

I have had a closer look at the double keyword thing and decided at the moment I like your new addition under the category in the product summary case as it appears to be inconspicuous compared with the Keywords (tags) in the WooTabsWrapper.

I have taken a few lines of code out of the Single Product Tabs php to prevent that being called. It works for the moment but a bit rudimentary. That’s all I have time for right now.

    Hi Robin,

Seems the updates went rather smoothly, well done but I do have a couple of Questions regarding Shop Page which seems to be displaying category rows of thumbnails with a huge white space below.  Having inspected the element on the page it seems there is a padding of 74% (white space on my page) which is a style of the div class kt-cat-intrinsic. Could you point me in the right direction as to where I can find this so I can change this in the original files as it’s quite unsightly.

The same goes for any page which displays subcategory thumbnails

One more thing I have noticed, you have now placed the product tags in the Product Summary Case below the posted in category which results in product pages having that information repeated due to the Tags remaining in the Woocommerce Tabs wrapper.

Is there a way to disable one of these because I think two is overkill.

I agree and it may not only be the way to keep contributors happy but also a way to attract more.

To be honest all I can think of is letting contributors stick with the prices they set. And you the Symzio developers  or the Agency still get 20% of the sales which I’m sure most think is fair enough.

On the Symzio site the header reads “the first completely contributor controlled stock photo, vector and video licensing agency”.

But I really don’t see how. If the contributor cannot set the price for their images as they see fit. My initial thoughts were this is the way it would be.

If the contributor cannot control pricing what exactly do the contributors control?

I don’t wish to speak out of turn here but we all have different reasons for wanting what we want. The owners of Symzio and contributors are bound to look at things differently. Contributors are not asking too much, maybe they want a fair price to cover cost of photog equipment, time out in the field or on site and work involved and the same for time and work to process images which surely can’t be given for free unless you are a saint or like doing volunteer work. The owners of symzio are in a different position. They want as many contributors and images and of course customers to purchase them to recompense them for the work they have put into developing it and to make a living from it and possibly get very rich if it takes off (who wouldn’t). But to draw an analogy we have the chinese and manufacturing, they use cheap labour, sell products stupidly cheap but their market runs into millions and millions of customers. They only need profit of a dollar an item when they are selling so many to become very rich!

I’m not saying I’ve got a way to resolve this, I’m just pondering the why’s and the wherefor’s.

We could do with a happy medium which will attract more contributors to submit to symzio and customers to buy!

And about unsplash, I don’t see the point in talking about free images at unsplash unless it’s a way to justify low pricing of contributors images. How could anyone have the time and resources to do it for free!

I would be lucky to get any on at the moment because none of my image product pages are displaying the image, description, title price etc. All single product content has disappeared!

Everything else is OK. I thought it was due to updating to SS 2.1.2 so rolled back to 2.0.9 which I was on but still the same.

Could it be a problem with content single product or single product file?

Are there no image sizes when images are purchased under Unlimited Royalty-Free License, just one price for full size image?

And once we go over to Symzio our websites for individual sales could be made redundant along with pricing system because why would someone buy directly from us at the prices we set if already higher when they can purchase the same image through Symzio at a very low price.

If we sign up to Symzio there is no point in any of us having our own pricing structure as Symzio is dictating that in a way and this is quite an issue!

I think Redneck is referring to this.

http://www.symzio.com/support – Simple pricing for customers

    One-Time-Use License

Vectors and raster images (including JPEGs, PNGs and TIFFs) are all priced at $0.99 for small sizes, and $4.99 at full sizes. HD Videos are priced at $29.99 and 4K videos at $59.99.

    Unlimited Royalty-Free License

In addition to the One-Time-Use License, we provide a simple Unlimited RF License that permits customers to use the media as many times as they want, in as many reproductions, indefinitely. This is priced at $24.99 for images and vectors. HD videos are $59.99 and 4K videos are $99.99.

    http://www.symzio.com/support/contributors

    Commission structure

Contributors earn 80% of all revenue generated through the sales of their images.

Affiliates earn 10% of every sale referred to us by them.

Bonus!  An exception to the above is if a customer purchases a contributor’s image through their own referral. Rather than earn 90% (the affiliate commission plus the contributor commission), this contributor will earn 100% of the revenue on that sale. This is a bonus intended to encourage transparent interactions between Symzio and each individual contributor’s site.

Bonus!  Additionally, if a visitor first finds Symzio through a contributor’s profile page and there is no referral attached to that visit, the contributor will automatically gain referral ownership of that customer as an affiliate.

    Yup,

think it’s my bad Steve, I’m in a part of the world that isn’t known for the liveliest of connections and I should have known better than to be jumping to conclusions. Just seemed to be coincidental with reading your previous posts.

Glad to hear and see all is fine and dandy now!

    Hi Steve,

Tried again on the PC and Cell phone and getting the same response whereas all other websites are displaying correctly yours isn’t.  The scroll function is there so content must be there but doesn’t seem viewable to me. I got on to an image page too. So all is there in correct format but no link or homepage visibilty.

    Hi Steve,

I have just checked your site and all I can see is a blank white page on the home and in the topbar no link text to image categories.

    Are you aware of this?

What I did stop by here for was to confirm which version of woocommerce we are running at present with symbiostock, still 2.4.6? As for some reason mine has updated itself to 2.4.10 and now I get the usual outdated copies of woocommerce files on the system status page!

Have just found a zip file of V.2.4.6 on github and will rollback woocommerce if need be.

    Hi Robin,

Very much appreciated is that, thanks for taking the time to explain. Excellent ‘how to’ account and I hope it not only benefits me but possibly others too. I will give it a go as soon as I get the opportunity, at least for standalone users there is a work around. Certainly better than being left out in the cold!

I’m going to answer my own question here for anybody else that has a similar problem.

Rather than uploading an image into WP media library and into symbiostock which automatically gets watermarked I used direct upload for example. I wanted to upload the Symbiostock Logo to use in the Blog Post Sidebar to further publicise Symbiostock as can be seen here Adulterated Symbiostock Logo

So I used one of the image widgets in this case Symbiostock Image Widget and rather than import the image from media library I uploaded directly from pc which in this case seems to have avoided the watermark process.

The one thing that I keep in mind is that industry altering things do happen, and they can start small. We’re talking about this in this forum, and who knows, months from now we could be really starting to see daily sales through Symzio and our independent sites that makes it a real contender in the grand scheme of things.

Completely agree with what you are saying here, it could be comparable to a tiny seed which germinates and grows into a huge tree, from such humble and miniscule beginnings things of gigantic proportions can be produced which far outweigh their simple origins. Let’s hope this is the case and we should work with that goal in mind.

Sounds like you’re going to be a very busy man Robin,

I only wish I could devote as much time to the project but some of us can only do little by little but nevertheless hopefully every little helps. Reading this has made me realise you have a genuine belief and dedication to make this work and hopefully for all participants it will. It has also infused me to want to help the process along and do my bit or at least as much as I practically can do in more ways than I presently am. I think we all need to start thinking along the same lines, it’s a numbers game and the more of us on-board and dedicated with a vast library of images from different niches to publicise who knows where it can go with the help of Symzio and your tireless effort.

    Hi Robin,

Will you be introducing in the future the ability for standalone users to upload video footage as Plus users can at the moment?
