Thanks a lot.
November 17, 2013 at 6:35 pm #2051I have about 1500 images up on each site, a few more on Alamy.
I’m sure you need a certain “body” of pictures to have a good variety of subjects that will generate regular sales. My guess would be that number is around 1000.November 17, 2013 at 4:17 pm #7724Is that maybe a third party security plugin to protect you from spam bot registrations?
November 17, 2013 at 3:06 pm #2049Thank y’all. It’s very motivating. BTW, my own site is already performing better than two of my traditional stock sites I’ve been with for more than two years.
November 17, 2013 at 11:38 am #7721What’s the benefit of having your images listed there?
November 17, 2013 at 11:14 am #2045Woke up to two sales today. Nice.

Another warning bell to me is that the “monthly” fees are paid “yearly” and upfront. So there isn’t even a test ride other than a full year’s fees.

As a member of the Symbiostock network you can test it for free. I don’t remember the exact conditions but the SYS site owners that started submitting to PE didn’t have to pay anything (so far).

Is this true??? Redneck and ajt both say so, so it must be true!
I currently have http://bestnaturestock.com/symbiostock_ipn/ in that field. I thought it was working right through my testing period, but now I’m not sure if I should leave it or delete it.
Please advise!
If your purchasing process works, don’t change anything.

Unfortunately, that lovely ranking feature seemed to cause a problem (duplication of images on following pages), so the latter was solved by dumping the former.
Like you, I hope to get that ranking feature back someday. At the moment, many of my very best images (which I proudly uploaded early in this process) are languishing at the bottom of my category pages. Sometimes even on the second page of extensive categories.
I’m hoping Leo has some plan for restoring that ranking feature. It was great while we had it.
Are you sure?
I still have the ranking feature and it still works well. I’m on 2.9.4.November 16, 2013 at 1:07 pm #7681You’re right, it doesn’t work with categories. But it does work with image search, at least on my site.
November 16, 2013 at 12:55 pm #7679You can “rank” your images from 1 to 3. “Ones” will be shown first.

I have it – I think because it came with the premium plugin. It’s what gets submitted to Google for indexing and my files are getting indexed. My site’s ranking is climbing.
I’m completely ignorant of SEO, so although the above seems to be reason to be happy, I could just be a woefully ignorant bunny 🙂
I’m even more ignorant. How do you know if your ranking is climbing or if things are getting indexed?
You’ll see how many pages and images got indexed when you sign up to Google Webmaster Tools (after filling the meta tag you receive from GWT into the Yoast WP SEO plugin and submitting your sitemaps).

The artwork is superb, but they are offering larger sizes than most Symbio sites at lower prices.
Hopefully there isn’t going to be a race to the bottom on Symbio sites as well.
Agreed.
November 15, 2013 at 12:28 pm #7575I noticed that the Twitter queue worked fine until one particular image was supposed to be published. Tried at least three times but the queue always stopped working when it came to that one image. Finally removed this image from the queue and everything works as it should.
