I have about 1500 images up on each site, a few more on Alamy.
I’m sure you need a certain “body” of pictures to have a good variety of subjects that will generate regular sales. My guess would be that number is around 1000.Is that maybe a third party security plugin to protect you from spam bot registrations?
Thank y’all. It’s very motivating. BTW, my own site is already performing better than two of my traditional stock sites I’ve been with for more than two years.
What’s the benefit of having your images listed there?

As a member of the Symbiostock network you can test it for free. I don’t remember the exact conditions but the SYS site owners that started submitting to PE didn’t have to pay anything (so far).

Like you, I hope to get that ranking feature back someday. At the moment, many of my very best images (which I proudly uploaded early in this process) are languishing at the bottom of my category pages. Sometimes even on the second page of extensive categories.

I still have the ranking feature and it still works well. I’m on 2.9.4.You’re right, it doesn’t work with categories. But it does work with image search, at least on my site.
You can “rank” your images from 1 to 3. “Ones” will be shown first.
Log in to your Paypal, go to your profile, find the IPN setting and delete whatever is in there.

I’m even more ignorant. How do you know if your ranking is climbing or if things are getting indexed?
You’ll see how many pages and images got indexed when you sign up to Google Webmaster Tools (after filling the meta tag you receive from GWT into the Yoast WP SEO plugin and submitting your sitemaps).

I noticed that the Twitter queue worked fine until one particular image was supposed to be published. Tried at least three times but the queue always stopped working when it came to that one image. Finally removed this image from the queue and everything works as it should.
