    I’m raising my prices on pond 5, and doing cheaper prices on symbiostock. then get 100%

    $15 to $20 is leaving money on the table, cheapest price at Shutterstock for an HD file is $79

    yes, but that pops them over to pond5 where the can also see & compare everyone else’s videos

    No different to people who have links to Alamy on their Symbiostock sites. When there is a video solution that works and is easy to upload too I will put content on my site.

    I think that Stock Photography has reached that saturation point too. To earn one must come up with something that is novel, different, desirable (to the client), or not readily available.

    I don’t think there is such a thing as over saturation, I firmly believe people defeat themselves on many different levels. The hardest thing in life is to change a habit and keep going on a new direction. Imagine Mick Jagger saying he is never going to sing “Brown Sugar” ever again because everyone’s heard it before over 40 years, instead on every tour they sing it, it sells to a new generation again and again.

    Stock photography’s biggest hurdle is to keep producing and not defeat yourself with the idea of pennies per download or it’s been seen before.

    A global payment for Symbiostock sites is probably the key to our success.

    Thanks I will. But…………..I thought I read something from Leo that spam registrations might help site visibility or maybe I got it wrong.

    My own stock video site would really interest me too, but I have 2,500 clips and I’m sure hosting would be $$$$$. Congrats Mark on starting yours I will be interested to follow your progress.

    Christine, I’m sorry to hear about this and hope you can get it straightened out, but you have probably saved me from this ordeal so far, so it’s bitter sweet but thanks for sharing.

    Jo I think the best way of posting a screen grab would be to upload it to a photo hosting site like Photobucket and get a link from them and paste that into this forum.

    I do have links to

    Search Traffic -> Links to Your site and
    Search Traffic -> Internal Links

    around 950 and 850 links

    All I did was pasted the Google code into my Symbiostock site, that is about as far as my software skills go. I’m sure somebody will come by and help you more than I can with the technical stuff.

    Funny you say Ikea, I bought some white Billy bookcases on sale, a few go a long way to make an “office”.

    I have done both white background and room based shots not isolated and I much prefer the room based shots, standing near a north window with maybe some sheer drapes makes for a nice set and a reflector or fill flash opposite the window. We have been having a heatwave here in Ontario, Canada with daytime temps of 20 to 24°C. I have two shoots this coming week an indoor and outdoor with models. Best of luck.
