I’ve been thinking about this and it seems like for RM you need to have a ‘quote request’ function where the prospective buyer specifies region, time frame, etc so that you can quote and ensure that the request doesn’t interfere with other active licenses.
Or (more complicated I think)
An ability for the user to check off various regions, select a time period, misc terms and instantly it quotes the fee. You would need a way to remove specific regions (already licensed) from the available license.
I think the second would be more complicated and be more likely to risk license conflicts. The second seems like it would require more seller time, but would reduce the likelihood of selling a competing license through a malfunction in software.
October 18, 2013 at 12:14 pm #5364Sorry to hear about your computer loss. Been there, done that… lost a lot more than time. :-/ Switched to Mac which has proven a lot more stable for me. I’m not ready to make the leap to full open-source… but Windows had to go.

October 17, 2013 at 3:45 am #1382Just throwing my site into the mix of those ready to network. http://dianajophoto.com
I have a fair amount of safe construction images (on white), other isolated people and as I process through I will be uploading a lot of my back stock from Alaska, my 6 months in the Yucatan, lots of Western Washington images to process/upload.
Roughly 210 images right now and new (old) stuff coming all the time.
October 16, 2013 at 12:49 am #5108I don’t know how much call by other people there would be, but I may well figure out how to do so because if I at least *know* which image looks off, I would be able to fix it.
October 16, 2013 at 12:19 am #5106So, pulling the image.xml file would show which images have releases set at yes or no? So, if someone created a nice way to display the image.xml on the backend and sort the list by category (people, for instance) you would be able to see that you have 5 images without a release set to yes…right?
In the future, I plan to only upload images that are released (or not) in batches where I can set it at processing…instead of the jumble I did this time. I *think* I got them all applied, but odds are one or two slipped through.
October 15, 2013 at 10:08 pm #4881Yep, images are updating…I’ve now published everything from my first round of uploading.

the upload doesn’t always go in order, and neither does processing — probably because both are multitasking, so some images may finish before others. I try to load/process similar categories, so now ipload & process in smaller batches
In the future, I will definitely do that. That’s usually how I process images…one shoot/subject at a time. Uploading a batch of old images though… I goofed. LOL
October 15, 2013 at 4:14 pm #4878I know what you meant Christine. I uploaded from my archives doing 2006 first, 2007 next, etc. However, I didn’t process as I went and processed everything at once…and it seems like things may have gotten jumbled at that point.
October 15, 2013 at 2:52 pm #4876Hmmm, maybe that’s it. I uploaded in bulk from my archives. The tiles are newer, but the arctic fox definitely isn’t, it’s from 2006 and would have been in that batch. I have a few things I will upload later today, so we’ll see if that sorts it. I’ll update here when I know.
October 15, 2013 at 2:35 pm #4904I’ve paid for nothing beyond my 3 years of hosting. I run regularly backups and download a copy of my databases periodically.
October 15, 2013 at 2:33 pm #4898Anyone thinking of setting up a VPS without a lot of technical knowledge can check out Craigslist resumés for your area and look for a unemployed sys admin with Linux experience. We had to set up a VPS at a small biz I was working for and after a day of trying to figure it out, I decided to call in support. 😉
We located someone out of work with a solid background in *nix servers and paid him for a few hours of his time. Absolutely worth the money. If you do this, have them come to you so you can see what they’re up to… and trust your gut if you feel like they might be shady.
October 15, 2013 at 2:22 pm #4874Yep, it’s not updating for you guys either. Had to rule out my ISP goodness knows Comcast has it’s issues.

I think the fees are not currency based but cross border based. So for me, 99% chance it will be foreign to South African soil hehe.
What I am thinking now is that with the charges it really eats away at the smallest file size sale. I think I might notch it up 50c US LOL!
Not a bad idea…and if people ask why because that’s the way it is. 😛
October 14, 2013 at 9:04 pm #4736The file located in my inc folder is symbiostock_file_download.php, ditto for the wp-content folder.
And back to 5.4 and it works.
