Thanks for the tip, it took some playing around with titles, meta descriptions and headers. For the first time the SEO on my home page is green!

    Hope I got it right.

    Just my two cents worth.

I am a small time photographer that wants a simple, clean way to market my photos.

I walked away from Symbiostock 3 months ago after having been one of the first adopters. It was initially a lot of fun and I saw lots of opportunities. However at the end of that time I saw 0 sales and the only visitors were my fellow Symbiots. I worked with Google webmaster tools every day to try to figure out what was going on. I still don’t know.

I have decided to give it another try but I am changing my expectations.

I feel that things like Network Analytics are great if your have a huge client base and are looking to expand. You also need a fairly comprehensive understanding of the technologies involved. That is not me. Give me something to help me manage my portfolio and make it easy for my clients to find me. That is all I want.

I think the Page option is the appropriate way to go. Click “like” and you start getting the posts in your news feed.

The group option is more closed and private and our goal is to get the word out. With a group we would either need to invite someone to join via e-mail or wait for them to find us, request to join, and wait for the moderator to approve the request.

I agree that groups create a sense of belonging (I belong to a group from the town I grew up in and it’s great for that) but the process for joining is kind of like having to register on our Symbio sites. We want to eliminate the registration and let people join up just by “liking” the page.

We should have a couple of mangers for the page that can manage roles, in case one person drops out there will be others available with full access. We can also have several in the role of content creator that can add new info and topics, and have several as moderators. This link explains what each can do. https://www.facebook.com/help/323502271070625

I know I am contrary but I do not think giving images away gains anything other than possibly a lost sale if someone really wants the image but is prepared to settle for a smaller size and get it free

I have offered free image to particular people for backlinks/promotional purposes but not a free for all for anyone

Shall I stay off this thread, I seem to be being a bit negative today 😀

I always value your opinion. We need to be challenged in our thinking before making a decision.

Within Google WebMaster Tools click on the menu item Search Appearance. You will see an item titled HTML Improvements. It has lots of information about your links.

    Just an FYI.

I have been using Google Web Master HTML Improvement to identify duplicate descriptions. As I have been elminating these my index count has been going up.

I don’t really know if they are related, but it seems to tie into what is being discussed.

I am seeing both with Firefox on Windows 7.

Very slow to bring up the search and images.

Discovered that there is a conflict with JetPack Carousel and WP image Gallery. I disable Carousel and the Gallery seems to work now.

Interesting. It does not work in Firefox either.

I recreated the Gallery but it is still broken. I have not check it in a while, I am wondering if something was broken in WP 3.6?

Thanks for letting me know, I will have to check it out.

I have tried a couple of different methods that don’t require coding.

The first is to create sub pages with selected images inserted into the page. These pages are then inserted into the menu drop down.
The second is to create a category such as Discounted and then insert the category into the menu drop down.

Here is a menu screen showing how this it done.

Just different ways of presenting images.

Is your site slow as the Tortoise as well?

My site was really slow yesterday (1 minute load time), talked to tech support,

they were having server issues, not sure if they have corrected it yet or not.
