Try it out now please.
I’m going through the other things mentioned, in the meantime — I’ve committed the Twitter Queue Bug / Size Hijack fixes.

— I echo the comments about the batch editor – I can’t offer extended licenses because of bugs. I think it’s very important to be able to set a default for licenses so that all new uploads get your choice of licenses without requiring a trip to the batch editor. Something appeared in the UI for that but it has never worked.
— PicturEngine integration may not be a priority (I think Justin said only 16 sites of over 160 have signed up for the trial) but it needs to be simpler – I think it needs to operate like the site map. You turn the option on and it just updates every 24 hours automatically.
— I looked at Cascoly’s list and for item 31 (showing model/property releases on the image page), I’ve implemented that for my site – see this example
http://www.digitalbristles.com/image/boat-ramp-into-lake-at-sunrise/
The code for that is on GitHub if you want to grab it. This isn’t a high priority for me as I already have it 🙂
— I made widget changes for Similar and Latest images so it’d ask you for number of images (and number of columns) as a number of people had asked about changing that. Some people don’t like modifying the code, so although this isn’t a bug fix, it’d be nice to see it incorporated in the theme if that’s possible
See this thread for info viewtopic.php?f=5&t=998
— Lots of people have asked about changing the number of images per page in search results/category listings. Rather than changing code, how about a UI option (like for the text on the download/add to cart button) that lets the user pick?
— Sort search results by Newest, Ranking (1 2 and 3) or Random
— Remove hardwired horizontal rules from the code so formatting is entirely CSS driven
–Can you incorporate the fixes to schema.org categories that were giving structured data errors in Google’s rich snippets tool? It’d be nice also to have the changes for establishing Google Authorship (see my blog poston that). The code parts are in items 5(b) 6 and 7.
This forum post talks about the code changes to get rid of the last two errors (there was a more detailed post on that in the old forum). The files are on GitHub

I have more small fixes that I’ll not mention unless you run out of things to do 🙂

This is quite a valuable set of things you’ve done. After bug hunting I’m going to go through the theme and do implementations like this. For organization’s sake, I’m going to make a new thread were we can collect things like this into one reference, allowing me to put them in quickly and properly.
January 22, 2014 at 10:46 pm #8475Great job. This is remarkable work 🙂
January 22, 2014 at 10:37 pm #8340YES!!! Finally, the involuntary-image-size bug is FIXED! Hopefully I tackled the one everyone is talking about 😀
January 22, 2014 at 9:53 pm #8339NOTE: With next update — please set up a twitter posting list, and tell me if it is doing it daily, automatically, now. I switched around some things.
It *appears* the issue was this:
That function is registered to run AFTER your site’s daily update. However some people’s sites may not be completing the daily update properly, so the twitter list never gets touched, but it’s parent function times out before it makes it there.
Anyone who can test things (after tonight’s release) please update me becaues this is very important.

The top menus should transform for Mobiles in the proper, Bootstrap 3 way
January 22, 2014 at 9:06 pm #8680“Cloud” tends to be a buzzword as well. You can make it anything you want…in this case, its mostly as Christine has stated 🙂

Thank you everyone for listing things consicely, and helping me organize a bit. I’m glad there are a lot of eyes out there keeping track of these threads / issues. I’ll be in touch as I commit changes and explain whatever developments happen. Its going to be a busy few weeks.

Great site (simple, clean) great portfolio! Keep us posted as it picks up.
January 22, 2014 at 8:02 am #8677Room for growth, believe me…they will be used. 🙂
After this Symbiostock is finished and the cloud version is running, they will be used a lot!
This year my goal is to clean up what we’ve done quickly and then bring Symbiostock to the goal I had in mind when I started it.
January 22, 2014 at 7:10 am #8325Its the HIGHEST 😀 Literally.
January 19, 2014 at 8:11 pm #8497This thread is one of the more useful of all the “Development” threads! Its certainly helping our sense of direction.
One thing I believe is paramount: A HUGE amount of participation. This forum software, for instance, is among the best of its kind, one of the older and dynamic softwares available.
Symbiostock’s original spirit was a co-op, where everyone has a well-rounded skillset, a product, and a particular thing they excel in (code, community management, social networking, etc). If we keep this moving forward and greatly nurture it, its possibly this one of its under-appreciated strengths that will solve many issues of exposure in the future.
On that note, if there are any more forums needed here, which will be useful and aid progress, please let me know. One thing that stunted our growth — Symbiostock was experiencing near-expotential growth as it was reflected in the way it took over MSG. Once the nay-sayers one out, and stifled Symbiostock, it was necessary to create this forum, and then the inevitable decline in growth happened.
It does show, however, that Symbiostock is already hugely social, and thats a huge part of its growth. So I present this too as something worth exploiting. My intention with the TWITTER INTEGRATION was to make a complete interface to all-things-Symbiostock happening on Twitter. If I can put this into the premium version it will also have some good effects.
Anyway, keep the brainstorming going. It appears I’m getting my energy back these months! 😉
January 19, 2014 at 8:43 am #8524Not really – but uploading to your site, getting indexed, then uploading to others is nearly as good.
January 19, 2014 at 8:28 am #8489I’ve been giving it a lot of thought, minding the suggestions in this thread.
I’ve decided to continue developing this version and refining it continuously — keeping it perfect and up to date. Tuesday – Friday I’d like to pull a lot of all-day-ers to fix all the bugs possible.
When things are set, I’m going to make a simple-symbio which is cloud based. It would be as wordpress.com is to wordpress.org — a simple, limited solution to those who “want something handed to them”. As things work out, it might just fund this part of Symbio which is more a more driven audience, and more independent.
Another thing – regarding the promotion issue people are mentioning — I’ve always felt that adapting this community also to include customers would be the way to go. But that approach will only be successful if its built on a very good set of ideas. If you look at the success stories of things like Google, Facebook, Twitter — you can see that exceptional ideas do not need promotion, as they tend to gather their own popularity.
