Hey Robin,

I was trying to test the new Bulk Import plugin this evening. Copy/paste into a spreadsheet from the sample text on the Bulk Import settings page is just pasting the whole line of text into one cell (tried on Google Sheets and Apple Numbers, might be able to try Excel later). Is there a special paste function I should be using?

I could try separating things out manually but want to make sure I’m preserving the correct row/column structure the plugin would need for importing the metadata.

I re-uploaded the entire zip file. Would there be anything to look at in the WP database side of things that might not have gotten removed by uninstalling the plugin from the old location?

I see. I’ve thought about offering uncompressed as an upsell option on files, with a 24-hour turnaround on delivering to keep those on offline storage (or maybe a NAS at some point) to save cost. Not a great option but I’m trying to approach this in baby steps — been selling on major agencies for a few years and starting this site for direct licensing seems like a natural progression.

I’ll definitely post it when it’s ready! Just gotta figure out what’s preventing previews from processing and then I’ll be able to start really building out the site.

Ahhh gotcha. You’re probably already doing this but h.264 compression on files can keep even 4K files at a manageable size especially if your clips are on the shorter side (less than 30s). I’ve got about 3000 clips I’ll be trying to get online here soon.

I’m seeing this “Failed to create video preview for product” issue on an Amazon Lightsail WordPress instance with these specs:

Virtual Server (Linux)
512 MB Memory
1 Core Processor
20 GB SSD Disk
1TB Transfer

I think I saw that you recommend using Lightsail. Are there any setting changes that you know need to be done before the server can handle the processing of video files?

I’ve confirmed it’s deleted and uninstalled from the old location. Tried deactivating/reactivating a few times on the new location a few days after deleting from the old location and it’s still giving me this error.
