Your collection link is broken, there are two links to a collection, the one that you show and this one, which is broken. It seems the collection main image is gone or no longer linked

thanks, that gives me a lead — both were working before I tried to add 2 more images in bulk editing…

I’ve got a similar problem where I have a zipped video and no price is shown, though i’m only making the zip available.

The latest version of Symbiostock is going to track network-wide traffic, keyword info, etc. Just like on the main sites you can see most used keywords, this will give that ability too.Your keyword log, which the Symbiostock main search engines use (cascoly, ajt) now includes how many times a given keyword has been searched.
…..
the big difference being the agencies don’t share the overall information…
October 12, 2013 at 5:45 pm #4425that plugin is needed for the search tracking in the new version — there’s a new file that logs searches on your site and tracks where they came from, and what keywords are being used, which searches started on your asite and which were referrals from other sym network sites
initial logs show about 1000 – 2000 hits per day – mostly from bots, so it’s a lot of data to massage
I plan to filter out the bots so we can track just human searches and look at most used keywords, underused keywords, etc
October 12, 2013 at 5:36 pm #4350rather than checking the symbiocards separately, http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=35 shows all promoted keywords – eg, there are 7 sites promoting Christmas
http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=31 shows each site’s promoted keywords
there’s a limit to the number of other sites’ results that will display – I think it’s 10 totaland note for all — you can now have up to 40 promoted keywords

When i look at webmaster tools, i see everyone in the network as “links to my site”. How is that happening? I am beginning to think that no matter who i link to in my ten slots, i am automatically linked to everyone. Right now, i am linked to sy.info and jsnovers site in two of my slots. Where are links to everyone in the network being made? I am not complaining, i am just trying to figure out how it all works. What is the emphasis on filling the ten slots if we are all linked anyway?
I dont have your site in my slots, but when I am searching for ‘pumpkins’ in my site, there are results from sy.info with your images and they have links leading to your site, so my site is assumed as linking to yours 🙂
But it’s only a link for that particular search. Is that considered a backlink in SEO terms?
when google crawls sy.info or my site, they look at each keyword and then dece whether to index each image on that page — the site’s are getting noticed, we just don’t know the actual results
October 12, 2013 at 2:13 am #4403i was getting about 10-20 spam comments a day — I shut off all coments, and most importantly, trackbscks, and haven’t had a problem since. I don’t use any other anti-spam plugins, trying to stay as vanilla as possible

October 11, 2013 at 10:37 pm #1738the problem with duplicate descriptions is still present in v 2.7.6
October 11, 2013 at 10:35 pm #41532.7.6 pro 1.2.3 batch editor:
still has major problem — select X images & try to delete category for those images (which is what the button seems to be telling us) – instead it deletes the ENTIRE category
luckily the batch editor made it relatively easy to replace that category

problem was also present in trying to delete keywords, but I havet tested it in this version yetOctober 11, 2013 at 10:30 pm #4338right in that google abandoned meta keywords awhile ago, but google is still walking through all the keywords in the global database. we have to remember that our ‘content’ is IMAGES, so writing long descriptions may be counterproductive if that bring us people who aren’t looking to buy images. much previous google traffic was just that sort of search (resulting in high bounce rates). the problem is, when some enters ‘forest fire’ google can’t really tell if they want information or pictures
October 11, 2013 at 9:50 pm #4337shazam described why linking to individual sites is better than just having sym…info as a link
the ‘who connects’ list is updated about once a week; it’s not going to be the same as the google webmaster reports since that will also have additional traffic. the visualize the network graph hasn’t been updated, mostly because it’s a snarled mess! that means we’ve got a lot of interconnections, but it’s not pretty.
we’re all in the dark as to the effects of google’s changes — but at the same time the alexa rankings for sites keep going up. http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=66
in addition to the fact of backlinking, which search engines notice, there’s also the effect of people on one site seeing your work
another point to remember is that not all traffic is helpful; it’s only a crude indicator– one of my most popular search keywords is pinnipeds – but my site isn’t going to be much use to someone looking for information — my site just has a lot of sea lion pictures, and a poster; however search for ‘image moose walking’ and 2 of the 4 images on the top line are mine. so it really depends what the searcher needs
so, if google succeeds in directing people where they really want to go, we’ll all benefit

kids from around the world — no model releases though — if you need more than 1 or 2 of these I can make a collection
also http://cascoly-images.com/pix/?s=anemone&post_type=image has several images of kids in an aquarium
October 11, 2013 at 8:47 pm #3597I have a separate page and main menu item for collections, http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image-collections-cascoly/
this way people who don’t use the categories will still see the collections. collections of course are still given a category
