weird … for ‘Oregon heron’ it says from ajt but shows my images
same for ‘Oregon beach’ or just ‘oregon’ – most of the first images are mine too, but not under my banner
what you first described is what should happen — first show results from sites you network too, then any promoted keywords, but maybe the search with sym…info is mixing things up
yes, that’s a new feature that crept in recently.
i’d suggested earlier that we need a way to show just the category images that are NOT in a subcategory
eg, in my birds category, i’d like to be able to show birds that are neither penguins nor puffins

there are some blanks discovered while parsing the promoted words, and i’m getting that fixed
while no views for Washington, there are soe for seattle
at this point only about 1/3 of sites are collecting views (v2.8.x +) so with small numbers like this, it’ll take awhile to settle into an average

for the most part completed items should just drop down, not be deleted — that prevents duplication, and also shows what we THINK has been fixed
all good points ,which is why I wanted to get the discussion going.
I saw some of this when I was using the GALLERY2 software a coupla years ago — a version control system AND administrator(s) are needed. there also needs to be a mechanism to determine what changes can be made
eg, a very minor change, but the new dropdown menus don’t support deeper hierarchies. we need to be able to ensure that new code doesn’t change how existing sites look and work. most changes should be optional additional features
we also need someone to document the existing code so that each programmer doesn’t have to start from scratch to learn the system

also, add focus & specialties to your profile so people can find you
start linking to some sites to get your network going — find sites that m ay not have many links yet

you also have no promoted keywords, so you’re not going to be found on many searches from other sites

it was added back around 2.8.2 – it logs searches on each site and can be collected externally to trace results over all sites. it was announced, but you don’t need to do anything to or with it — just add the file name above to your site to see your results. it resets after a given time or # of results so never gets very large

…….More, you’ll have a url that could have the name of the gallery which help the indexing by the Search Engines. Well, at least if wordpress/symbiostock allows it. In my current less-than-half-finished zenfolio portfolio this is allowed and it does make a big difference in Google web results. Not so successful in the image results.
