the new search log doesn’t seem to be working as described:

    —-
Search log is a CSV file. Each line has 5 values:
    1.Keyword
    2.Local (1) or Remote (2) search.
3.Referring (human search only). 0 if None, Site (string) if a referral.
4.Requester’s IP address (You can use this to get locations and bots as well)

no local results are being logged — eg, I searched for ‘mannerism’ and my onsite search shows up as ‘remote’ rather than local, and there is a remote search from google, but with no referring ID

and a search externally from symbiostock-search.com doesn’t generate any log

also, searches I start on other sites that give results for my site don’t get logged when I click on an image that brings me to my site

I’m lost – did I miss a new feature? I have no idea what you’re referring to.

Where would I turn this on, or if it’s a plugin, can you tell me what it’s called or where I can find it?

it was added back around 2.8.2 – it logs searches on each site and can be collected externally to trace results over all sites. it was announced, but you don’t need to do anything to or with it — just add the file name above to your site to see your results. it resets after a given time or # of results so never gets very large
