I just looked at your site Steve. I came across your blog a while ago and found it quite useful. I also bought your e-book a while back!!
February 15, 2016 at 10:01 am #25759Thanks Steve. Those links should be working now. I knew about it but overlooked fixing. Debated going with just a white background but went with a neutral gray to compliment the images. Not quite 50% gray as that was too dark. Thanks for the input.
January 31, 2016 at 9:07 am #256532.5.0 but I see there’s a 2.5.1 and just updated
January 31, 2016 at 4:56 am #25651Redneck, Let me amend my prior post. Those titles above the thumbnails now seem to be dormant rather than active and are now just a listing. The thumbnails have taken over the selecting by category. A bit redundant and I can live with that. The original way would have been problematic.
January 31, 2016 at 4:52 am #25650Thanks. When I change woocommerce to categories and sub categories I see thumbnails now (although I’ll have to add a thumbnail image) with a count rather than just individual products listed. That method seems to work properly. However I still have Category active titles above those thumbnails that are the problem. Those appear only when I’ve labeled an image with a category in the Symbiostock Media editing area. Just not seeing any settings yet that might relate to that. My site is not live yet, still lots to be done.
January 22, 2016 at 3:25 am #25536Thanks. I read all that documentation a few times before posting however it just doesn’t provide the detail on all the various settings.
I set a couple licenses to “yes” for raster and nothing changes. I’ve also run the cron job to see if that helps.
Update. I just uploaded a fresh image and it seems to have taken the new variation so I guess I have to have these things set prior to an upload as the changes to my existing test images aren’t working.
January 21, 2016 at 4:18 pm #25532In follow-up, I have found this. The license variation can be changed on individual media items, via the license tab. I saw it work once but couldn’t replicate. Whenever I add a license variation, save changes, and update it isn’t working. The changes don’t seem to get saved. After updating and going back into the look at the variations, they are reverted back to Blogger, Extended, and Full Size. The changes are not getting saved. Also, there should be a global way to set the different license variations, rather than individually by media item I would think. Thanks.
January 19, 2016 at 7:02 am #25503Very helpful and appreciated. Thank you.
January 19, 2016 at 5:27 am #25501Thank you gentlemen. I believe I have a handle on this now. If you have insight on a couple of other items I’m looking at that would be appreciated.
Need I be concerned about a standard aspect ratio of my images to be uploaded, ie 4:3? I have a number of old images I’d like to use but may not fit a standard aspect ratio.
Also, Need I think about labeling certain images as editorial, or is that more the responsibility of the end user?
January 16, 2016 at 10:35 am #25477Thank you for that information however we got sidetracked. I’m more concerned about the download link not generating than the cron jobs. I’ve tried another test sale and no download link. It must be a settings issue within Symbiostock, Woocommerce, or Paypal. Any assistance appreciated.
January 13, 2016 at 5:00 pm #25448All I can find is cron job. Nothing about scheduled processes or task scheduler. There is a “run now” button and this:
curl -silent -A ‘Mozilla’ ‘http://www.silverstockimages.com/?c=1&ss_c=18cedfe171a3652c28aa’ >/dev/null 2>&1
in the field just below it.
I’m not sure what you mean by “stick in the line”.
January 13, 2016 at 4:25 pm #25445It was actually an image I had uploaded a couple days prior through running the cron job. I’m not sure if it is updating once a minute as I can’t seem to find the scheduling processor.
