Well the text widget works, putting an HTML link in there.

Hi C – I’ve been struggling with this today, too.

I have set up a Collection with discounted bulk pricing but like you, I cannot get Collections to appear in the menu (it’s “invalid”) nor can I find a way to link it to categories.

It’s newsworthy too, what with Lonely Planet rating Yorkshire as one of the top places in the World to visit. So I want to Tweet, G+, FB about it and get it out there.

I think I might go down the Text widget route next.

As to the “pop-up” bit, go to Symbiostock > Batch Editor and search for the image you want to allocate as the “Preview” image for your collection. Select it and click on the “Edit ####” link beneath the image and that’s the pop-up that you can use to price up the collection and allocate it it as the “Preview” by scrolling to the bottom of the pop-up.

Oooooh. “Earth” at the first attempt. Has it been fixed?

    /cultural reference=on/ It has me at “Hello” /cultural reference=off/

The sums never do it for me. Hello usually does. But it might take a while to get there.

    Here’s the instructions –

    *****************************************************************************************************
    About Collections

Collections are ways to sell entire “sets” of images under one main “preview” image. While a collection is technically a type of category, you make it “sellable” by attaching it to a main preview image.

Create a collection using options in the “Collection” (this) panel.[/*]

Assign images to the collection by searching, selecting, and choosing “Add Selected Images”, and pushing “save”, similar to the “Categories” panel.[/*]

In the batch editor search results, find an image you wish to use as the “Main” image representing the collection. Click “Edit”.[/*]

Be sure to modify the price to that which you feel properly reflects the combined worth of all the images, with obvious bulk discounts or special license considerations.[/*]

In that Edit Image panel you will find a dropdown to assign the collection. Choose the desired set of images that will be available with this purchase.[/*]

You can unassign an image from hosting a collection by visiting your collection panel, and clicking the X corresponding to the collection preview image in the list.[/*]

TIP: For the “main image” you should make a collage, software box, or similar type preview to visually imply a “set” of images. You can create and upload one of these with the intention of turning it into a “collection” preview.[/*]
It seems like a lot, but you will get used to it fast. Its the simplest way to implement a valuable system like this without over-complicating things.

    I’m struggling with this too.

Me too. The only thumbnails that show are manually uploaded ones i.e. logos, watermarks and separate blog entries.

Any images for sale don’t show. But yes, I question whether it’s of any significance to site function.

There must be a plugin for that.

By the way, this shouldn’t be regarded as a “mistake”, thank you very much. No, this was a “learning experience”.

Do you still have a back-up of your cart on your computer (if not I probably do) then delete it and re-upload and see if that helps?

No. It was never a separate plugin for me – it came when I upgraded to 2.9.4 straight from 2.6.x.

None of you are going to speak to me any more are you…

No, cannot log in with those details – it just reverts to my “real” login name. Just a thought, if you are on 2.9.4 why are you getting an auto-generated password instead of one you choose?

I’ll preface this post by giving you all permission to rip off one of my arms and hit me over the head with the soggy end. Repeatedly. For as long as you like.

If I register from the “Login” page i.e. the WP-Admin page, I cannot set my own password and the randomly generated password doesn’t work. But no potential buyer’s going to do that are they?

They’re going to use the “Login/Register” button on my Homepage. And if I set up a dummy account from there with my own password, everything’s (almost-but-not-quite) hunky-dory.

I’m going to sit in the naughty corner. Sorry for sending you all on a wild goose chase.

But my Cart Manager’s still broken though. And Andrzej’s IP address was blocked, according to my site.

I just tried again with a different address and got as far as the payment page with no problems.

Logged out and then in again with my chosen password. The only thing that I would say is that your blurb on the download page is a bit big and distracting (and is now out of date with the autogenerated password). Why not put the text on the side of the page instead of above the download pay/download area so clients can find it immediately ? (I then wondered why yours and mine were different in this regard, I am using the Customer template for the customer page)

I agree, first time I saw the page I thought I’m not where I should be, because I couldn’t see the chosen image and the pay now button.

Yes it’s the original Symbio page template and I agree, my page needs a major overhaul.

Russell, try sending me one of your “extra” accounts with login details and I will see if it works for me ?

Just had an email that Andrzej’s registered too (ajt) – let’s see what happens.

Thanks to all for helping me with this, btw.

    Everything ok 🙂
And my cart plugin is active all the time (I had two registrations yesterday).

    Thanks Andrzej!

Thanks Christine – yes I agree, I haven’t got round to editing that page yet, nor my acceptance and thank you emails.

I’ve had a few other problems with the site that needed sorting out first… 😉
