Looking into it a little further, I have looked via FTP and there is no image directory and if I create an image directory it still doesn’t create an image if I upload a new one???
Had to create the directories, but it all worked okay with FTP thanks.
I’ve just upgraded to 2.8.1 but still not getting images showing 🙁

My problem is I’m always upgrading when you make changes then spend what seems like forever changing the look/feel and playing around with the updates but never actually getting around to putting the images up 🙂 still as Del boy says ‘This time next year’…
Leo, I was having a look at your site to see if the images/previews were doing the same as mine and not loading and I’ve noticed in IE8 it loads sites as if its a mobile site! should it do this? Actually I’ve just checked several sites and they all seem to do it!
Do you mean ‘Image Categories’? if so, in the top right hand corner select Screen Options and tick the box that says Image Categories and it will add the image categories menu on the left hand side.
Thanks for the info, regarding the new styling options, I see the main logo background is white, is it possible add the option to make this transparent and also to be able to align it to the middle instead of to the left?
Is it possible to build in the ‘remove author information’ from the SyXtra plugin into symbiostock?
Great graph, when I finally get around to finishing my site there should be another 1000 or so images going up 🙂
I had the exact same problem and it took me ages to work out why, I have a simple text widget that shows text on the homepage and for some reason the text disappeared, so after lots of going back over stuff I had done I found that if the box ‘Replace Front Page template’ is unticked in the SyXtra plugin it removes any widgets that I placed on the homepage, might be worth checking that to see if it solves it.

For example if I type ‘Motorbike’ in the search box on my main unfinished site it shows me the following page,

I’ve actually installed a blank copy of symbio to a different sub domain which Im testing lots of bits on so the main one is slightly different. but on that link above I want to alter the text it displays in the result.

*If anyone could make the top menu bar as a plugin i’d be happy to pay a little towards it… Its a feature I really want but want to stick to 2.6.5.
Christine, thanks its still a work in progress getting everything how I like it before I start putting the images up, the cookie notice is by dFactory and is called ‘Cookie Notice’ I tested everyone I could find and settled for that one.
There seems alot of interest in the top menu from 2.6.7, unfortunately I dont have the expertise to make a plugin, I wonder if there is anyone out there that could make that a dedicated plugin for those that want it?
