Thank you for bringing this up. I’ve just checked my site. It is not as bad as Redneck’s but bad enough. No buyer is going to wait 30+ seconds for a search to complete. This is really weird because I haven’t done any update/code change for quite a while (except for a few plug-ins such as YOAST SEO. Hard to imagine that those would slow our searches down to snail speed.) And I am sure it was working satisfactory beginning of February because I did thorough speed tests and optimizations.

I really hope we can find the cause and fix it. Would be such a pitty to shut down the networking on my site. 😥

Since I put my images on PE beginning of February I got not a single referral to my site through them. Pathetic. Good luck trying to get me paying for this “service”…

That’s an interesting find. Well done!

Hope that makes an eventual bugfix easier.

The search has trouble dealing with special characters. My guess is the “ö” in Malmö is throwing it off. You can check your error_log for hints. I remember having seen entries that stemmed from this – more or less known – problem.

You could ” losslessly compress” the jpg minipics by stripping (part of) the metadata, which at their small pixel size is a good percentage of the file size.

Andre wrote a blog post last August about this: http://picturebreeze.com/stock/photos/how-to-move-your-wordpress-site-to-a-different-webspace-host/

I have used his instructions successfully. Well, 99%. A few internal links in widget texts had to be edited manually. Other than that it worked flawless. However, your mileage might vary depending on the pair of Hosts you are using.

Do previews get generated when using NO watermark (meaning the default one is used)? If not, you have a problem with your server settings (php.ini) and/or your WP/Symbio installation.
Is your own watermark a transparent PNG file with EXACTLY 522 x 522px? If not, weird things happen.

If yes to both questions, please provide link to your site. Maybe that gives us hints what’s going wrong.

You could check the error_log file in your public_html folder (that’s where I look on my Blu Host server, not sure if it’s the same for GoDaddy) for more clues.

Are you using the ImageMagic processor?

However, I still feel the batch editor needs a bit of fine tuning.

I second that one. Glad, though, that the workaround does it for you, now. 😀

I have a category “all photos”. It gets sorted new to old in the batch editor. Maybe this would help you as a workaround?

Hmm, it seems to work for me (on my site) in Firefox. What happen when you, as a workaround, increase the max number of results per page that you get only one page? It might take a few seconds for results to show but this also works for me.

Sorry, I guess I was on a totally wrong track. I understand now that your daily tweet works. It is just on the twitter page that you miss some/most of your images.
I’ve just played a bit with Twitter and my impression is that Twitter shows just a selection of all the photos. Depending what other option I check (like “Everyone” or “People you follow”) I get different selections. With “People you follow” I see also your latest image. I can only guess that is how Twitter works. I wonder, though, how photos get selected and others not…

Enabling the Daily Tweet on the Twitter tab starts an cron job in the background. If you have done that and it is not working the plugin I recommended lists all those cron jobs and you can start them manually. It is much faster testing and you can check your error_log file right after that in order to find hints what went wrong. BTW, what prof plugin version are you using?

Was this image https://twitter.com/flashstockphoto/status/443715045445226496/photo/1 tweeted manually? (It is the last of your images I can find on Twitter)

Did you enable the Twitter cron job on Symbiostock -> Twitter tab?

I use the plugin Core Control to see what’s going on behind the stage. It lets you start cron jobs manually. It proved to be very helpful for troubleshooting stuff like this.

I am surprised you are/were still on php 5.2.

I think in November last year I heard that BluHost was starting to “enforce” switching. I got notified in January with 7 days grace period. At least I GOT notified. It seems many of us didn’t.

I am sorry to hear your site got destroyed. What do you mean exactly? Everything wiped out, not working, or just not working correctly?

When they switched me it was just the php.ini that needed some fixing as the custom settings were gone. And I don’t think you can just use a backup copy of your version 5.2. php.ini file.
