Are you using the Metamorphosis version of Symbiostock? Thats an odd one.

I don’t know what Metamorphosis version is, so probably not using it. I’m on SYS version 2.6.5. , WP 3.6., PHP 5.3.27

I can make an admin account for you, if you want to have a closer look…

    Thank you Leo! 🙂

Can anyone advise on how do I upgrade? On Plugins page in WP admin, I can see the “SYMBIOSTOCK – Professional” plug-in v 1.1.8., but there isn’t the yellow bar underneath saying that an update is available.

I was planning to sell png alongside jpgs, but there are couple of drawbacks:

    – stripped out copyright info
    – for unknown reason, my files aren’t processed when png is larger than approx. 22MB – which is almost always.
    – sometimes, the jpg versions won’t appear on the page, thus can’t be purchased
    – when png appear alongside jpgs, the selection might be a bit too confusing fro average customer – 4 jpg sizes + 4 png sizes.

I settled down to uploading zipped TIFF and offering full size TIFF with transparency in “zipped” format. That makes 4 jpgs + 1 zip (full size tiff) to choose from.

I’m not selling yet, so can’t say if it works or not, but it is an option that I’ chosen to go for 🙂

    UPDATE:

JPG with ZIP goes through ok. It is only PNG that is causing problems.

I’m using 2.6.5 too. It worked for me alright few days ago. I had both JPGs and PNGs appearing on the page. No idea why I they won’t go through now.

Hi, I’m still building my website, but with customer experience in my head. I think that customers will buy from my SYS website because:

    1) I’ll make it clear that they won’t find my images cheaper elsewhere*
    2) They can talk to me – regarding customisation of illustrations, special needs, etc
    3) They want an image, not subscription.
    4) Easy payment, no credits.

*Excluding subscription prices. I want to offer pricing that is equal to agency price, or in the early stages less than what agencies ask for my images. No price wars, but I don’t think it would be fair to sell direct and ask for more money than agencies do.

Who will not be buying on my SYS website:

    1) Buyers of high volumes via subscriptions.
I don’t think it would make economic sense for them to buy through SYS. But perhaps we could attract them with good prices for large collections of images.

After you purchase the image and return to your page, you dont download the image by clicking the download button. Your image should show at the bottom, and you click on the image to download. Having that button that says download is confusing and i have changed mine to say ” add to cart” because you only use it when you select an image size to purchase and add to your cart. Hope that helps.

Thank you Cathy, I know what you mean, the download button is confusing. Add to cart sounds better. However, in my case, I’m quite sure that I’m clicking the right button… on screenshot below. Still can’t figure out what the problem might be.

Nope, I haven’t got such plug-ins. I tried disabling all but SYS plug-ins anyway, but no luck. I also tried different browsers… nothing.

    Thank you so much Christine.

    1) I’ll get a business account then 🙂

    2) My site is on http://ecostockimages.com.

I created a user with the following log-in details:
    Name: EcoStock Tester
    Password: VAteVz9W5awA

When you log in, you will see the image ready for downloading in the File Management section. That’s the image I can’t download.
