    pretty good grsphoto..

I would remove “No fees” as paypal takes some of that %100 🙂

wonder what would have happened If I didn’t say “I am sorry in advance”, “I appreciate” and “no offence” 😀

anyway, I wasn’t looking for an argument and still not looking.. just to clarify, I never mentioned that I wanted to use that description so it is funny that you say I can’t use it.. 🙂

you are the one who is making it personal.. for me you were just “a random forum person I strongly disagree”.. there is nothing wrong with “strongly disagreeing”.. 🙂

All the best to you.. as it is nothing personal, I will be around to praise and give credit when needed, just as I was here to criticise..

So both you and shelma must have skipped over the parts where we thanked shelma for her work. 🙂

Getting people interested should NOT be accomplished by misrepresenting what SY is, imho.

    that’s what it is..

    nothing personal..

first of all, Shelma, I appreciate you writing a description.. and have been reading your comments, but you actually STILL have no idea of what symbiostock actually is..

no offence, but you must realize what symbiostock is NOT before writing a description:
1- it is NOT an agency..
2- we are NO contributors.. drop “for contributors”.. we are the owners of our own sites, own domain names, own hosting.. symbiostock is JUST A TOOL.. there are others available such as K-TOOLS and CMSACCOUNT.. but we prefer symbiostock as it has a networking aspect that may prove to be very useful for SEO and google rankings..
3- as stated above, bluehost is an option but NOT a must..
4- we do NOT receive %100 commissions.. We keep %100 of royalties as the store and content belong to us.. royalties, not commissions..
5- you do NOT join! instead, you download the script and open you own shop.. there is nowhere to join as it is NOT an agency.. you open the store and you link with other store owners.. you can choose with whom you will link.. you are not linked to anyone by default.. in fact, you may opt not to link to anyone, and be a totally independent site if you wish.. so network is optional.. anyone using symbiostock theme can very well be a one-man-show if they prefer..
6- again: no %100 commissions (should be called %100 revenue or royalties)… no agency (should be self-hosted), no contributors (should be artists, photographers etc.)

You’re what people in the ad industry call a “bad client.” everyone else who commented was nice and offered constructive criticism, but you immediately jumped down my throat.

Most of the people here are nice, but a couple are so nasty it really makes me want to avoid Symbiostock like the plague.

I promised I’d write a second description targeted towards buyers, so I’ll do that. But with reception I’ve gotten here, I think that will be it for me, unfortunately. Some of you sound like iStock. forum moderators.

my message was a real kind one compared to yours 🙂 a proper criticism was due, and it was given..

I can’t just watch someone who isn’t even a symbiostock user butcher the definition of what it is.. my intention is not to offend anyone..

if you really want to help, you need to write down a proper description..

I don’t see why it offends you.. your description has weak points and I will say it again if I have to.. I have nothing against you, it’s just that it is too obvious that you are not informed enough..

references to “agencies, commissions, contributors” should be removed and that “is” constructive criticism..

I think that, sooner or later, someone would do it. I don’t mean Symbio working like agency, with % for admin etc, but something that we could call “Symbiostock Farm”. It could be hosting dedicated only to Symbiostock. Registration, payment, and you have your own subdomain with Symbio site ready for uploading. All you pay for would be:
    – server space for your files,
    – script mainstained and upgraded by admin,
    – help, support, backup,
    – your subdomain.maindomain.com or/and maindomain.com/subdomain,
    – indexing and promotion in main search engine at maindomain.com.

    that looks like interesting indeed!

that’s what clustershot was and they went bankrupt 🙂

luis, the best way to solve your problem is to start your own symbiostock site..

personally, it is working great the way it is for me.. I like my own site.. zero advertising costs.. it makes me more money than bigstock, canstock or alamy.. I keep nearly %100 minus paypal fees.. what I made last month already covered 1 year hosting costs..

why on earth would I want this to become an agency again? to hell with agencies 🙂

come on! join symbiostock.. get your domain name, hosting and start uploading.. instead of losing time on suggesting alternatives..

Leo, I think it’s happening because you gave the plugin the wrong version number..

    have you checked that?

    Copied from MSG:

Hello everyone. Here’s a VERY IMPORTANT initial update on the base theme.

First, a WARNING: Do not install this unless you are ready for the quirks of a major overhaul, and a few adjustments on your end.

See this example on my website: http://www.clipartillustration.com/

    Download: https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock/blob/metamorphosis/symbiostock.zip?raw=true

What’s going on here is we are finalizing Symbiostock for the long haul. Simplicity, minimal, professional. Out of the box.

We’ve put in the modern bootstrap 3, and along with many other perks the whole theme is 100% responsive, no questions asked.

The objective here is that the theme should be a simple blank slate, with plenty of flexibilty for modification stylewise. On the other hand, with no modifications, it should come off as a no-nonsense simple image store.

    not sure I like it..

worst part is I will have to modify my “child theme” which I don’t want to change for a while..

the only thing I like there, is “breadcrumbs”

    just read number 3:

3 Remove the Standard License blue bar that appears BELOW the Download button (not sure why it’s there, see here for example: http://thpstockphotos.com/image/first-light/ )

it’s actually possible to remove that during set-up.. there should be a tutorial which will solve these issues..

If you set the upgrade amount to 0.00 for standard license that bar will not appear.. I know because the same thing happened to me and that’s how you remove it..

It would mean that Leo has lots of places to look for it instead of just one

giving it a second thought, I think you are right.. we should keep it all in one place.. and this seems to be a good thread for it..

it might be helpful to break that long list into a series of specific areas — eg:

    collections
    image processing & editing
    batch editor
    paypal & download
    cart manager
    twitter

as items are resolved, a short list can be maintained showing issues remaining

    additional item:
    include version # more prominently

i’d do this but i’m traveling for the next few weeks, but will re-post the collections issues shortly

    good idea..
