I see both – featured and similar.
BTW, your site is still slow from my location. I see search results after about 8s.November 1, 2013 at 9:32 am #6657@russell wrote:
Just had an email that Andrzej’s registered too (ajt) – let’s see what happens.
Thanks to all for helping me with this, btw.
Everything ok 🙂
And my cart plugin is active all the time (I had two registrations yesterday).October 31, 2013 at 9:20 pm #6602@cascoly wrote:

You arent having the problem because it was fixed a couple of versions ago and you are probably on the latest version. i am still on 2.6.5. If i upgrade, all will be ok, but for now i just disabled similar images until i can spend the time to redo my site. 🙂
Do you have any experience in editing php files?
If so, you can fix similar images bug.
Leo fixed it in 2.9.4, it needs some new code only in one line:
https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock/commit/898995fc226f24d4e7df43f2a145db6b94888b51In 2.6.5 you should edit file wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/widgets.php
Go to line 829:
and change it to
That’s all.
It should work, but I’ve not tested it 🙂October 30, 2013 at 9:47 pm #6576Steve wanted to delete cache files (I was not sure why), so I simply told him, how to do it.
But because it could increase throttling, I suggested him testing site performance first without deleting files.@cathyslife stockphotos wrote:
But for me it’s a moot point, because when I change that cache to 0 and save, it reverts back to 7 anyway. :rolls eyes:
You have 2.6.5 and it doesn’t allow 0 days 🙂
October 30, 2013 at 9:34 pm #5523Answer is the same:
Annouce your site in this thread (or let me know in other way).
But do it when your site is ready for customers. I still see “Site under construction” there, and this message suggests that I should wait until your site is ready 🙂October 30, 2013 at 6:12 pm #6575But… disabling cache can only increase throttling (or there will be no difference), bacause cache for files needed by bots is always enabled. Number of cache days is used only when search is performed by human (or unrecognized bot).

Incidentally, I thought that the Run Daily Image Update was perhaps causing my throttling. I’ve just turned that to Off. What does that function do?
SteveWhen on, once a day site writes all images info into two files (symbiostock_image_info.csv and symbiostock_image_info.xml). They can be used by external search engines, for example sy.info. If you have this option off, you have to remember to save these files manually after new images publishing or editing something. Just check “update public image info” and click Save. I don’t think, that this function performed automatically once a day is a reason of throttling. How much time does it take after Save changes? In my site with over 2400 images it takes about 8s. Much more time needs network scanning, also performed once a day, and there is no option now to switch it off 🙂 I think that this could cause throttling.
(I managed to speed it up 2 or maybe 3 times in latest Symbio versions, but it still takes more than half a minute sometimes).October 30, 2013 at 5:01 pm #6572@steveh wrote:
I remember a discussion a while back about the cache that builds up on our sites, and how deleting that cache could improve site performance. Am I remembering right, and which folder needs to be cleared?
Steve
If you mean built-in cache for network results, you can delete all files in folder symbiostock_xml_cache. But instead of deleting try how site is performing without using cached files. Simply go to Bee->Network and enter 0 in cache days. This cache is used only for holding results from network sites and it helps to decrease network traffic (and throttling), mainly when bots are crawling out sites.
October 30, 2013 at 12:32 pm #6518I was testing partial search (and search only in title/description) in sy.info, but it returned too many odd results 🙂
Maybe finding single words in compound keywords would be useful, I should test it.October 30, 2013 at 12:21 pm #6516Sy.info finds only whole keywords, so let’s wait for your public image info updated and indexed.
Now dobermann …
This image:

doesn’t have “dobermann” in keywords.October 30, 2013 at 12:04 pm #6514@christine wrote:
For an easier one on my site try podenco, 5 and 4
When keyword “Podenco” was added to this image?

It is not in keywords list in your symbiostock_image_nfo.csvOctober 30, 2013 at 8:28 am #6510Do you have Symbiostock Pro plugin installed? It allows searching for compound keywords.

My reply was for Martha, your case can be different 🙂
I tried search for “podenco”, but your wordfence blocks me.

I notice that the images that don’t show up in the “my site” search are vertical images. All the horizontal images show up correctly. Is this just a coincidence, or is it somehow a problem?
Your site doesn’t show results with compound keywords. Four images have keyword “Greater Roadrunner” and also separate keywords “greater” and “roadrunner” and these four are visible. Two have only “Greater Roadrunner”.
Do you have pro plugin installed? -
