I don’t have a clue about imagemagick. Currently, I process my images in Lightroom with additional fine tuning as needed in Photoshop. I’m very happy with my workflow and the product it produces.
Does imagemagick replace those? Is it going to be something complicated to learn?
It’s not a program like Lightroom. It’s the “engine” that processes the photos when you upload to Symbiostock. I think my Bluehost site was already using it. Some sites had to manually make the change or work with their host to do it. I think the other process was GD something. If you look above the upload box on your dashboard it should list what you are using.
The potential problem is that some hosts don’t support it but I think it is available or standard in many cases.

I’ve been struggling with a utility called “exiftool” which is meant to be used on multi-site version, so things have slowed down. Overall though there have not been many hurdles and things are going along nicely.
Just a small update.
I can see people are still being “patient” on some hard to figure out features of the older version. Hopefully this next one will be much, much easier to navigate and set up.

Exif tool is useful and priceless, but I do wish it had a proper front end designed. I set my needs to bat files and I just run them on my images for the web. I’ve already forgotten the command line code LOL! I’d have to go read it all up once again.

How it plays with PHP I don’t know but there are websites invoking it via command lines. I can’t think of any sites offhand, though. What exactly are you trying to get it to do?

at the simplest you would type in something like
exiftool myfile.jpgand it would output every sort of exif value found. if you do
exiftool -json myfile.jpgit will put out a json array that php can recognize. It works great on my local machine, but it ignores exiftool in the server environment. But using php’s
exec('exiftool -json myfile.jpg', $output, $response);output remains blank (whereas it should be the exif values).
Multi-site would be run by experienced people like cascoly, so I wouldn’t expect it to be too easy 😀 but still this issue should not be so hard. We’ll see if we get around it

Pretty much 😀 we’d have to do things like put the source URL in the image (an option anyway) get GPS if applicable…keywords, desc, etc.
I only use it to write a standard template to all my files. I wrote some bat files (took me nearly two days to research and to get the commands right) that erase useless data and to write in my site/©/name/etc. into all the obvious places programs read.

pauseI’d like to research if we can get exiftool even on shared hosting. Sounds like you guys already appreciate it’s usefulness.
As far as I understand it, one can use it freely, so I don’t see why not. Just drop him an email and ask.
What is irritating is that it is all done via a command line. What is great is that all it takes is a bat file to write/erase dozens of sections and lines to dozens of files with one click.
I should write some sort of damñ variable so I can right click on files and run my bat … but I’ve been lazy. I absolutely loath code LOL! I have a fix path folder, move the files in, click the bat file, press cntrl+z to move the files back to where they came from, complete with new metadata hehe. Madman’s logic.
