I have Symbio version 2.6.6 and no Updates available in my Control Panel. How come? Cannot see updates for Plugins too…I think something happens but I don’t know what to do.

2.7.1 is still in beta testing right now. I am sure Leo will release it soon after we are thru pulling it apart and putting it back together again. It is looking very nice at this point. Something to look forward to.

I’ll have some more today. But so far so good. Give clean-theme a rest for now. Besides you will be able to change quite a few things to bring about a similar look. If I’m not mistaken Amanda is working up a clean-theme update.

Just let me know when you are ready and where I can download it from. Looking forward to the changes you have implemented.

Leo; I am ready to move 2.7.1 into production. Testing site is working well except for CleanTheme. I will disable that for now in production. Any last minute updates I need to get?

    Yours is looking good David

Cosmetically I am very gradually getting my test site similar to my current one but everything has changed so am having a lot of trial and errors (lots of errors and fails 🙂 ) although I should probably wait until after Leo has finished upgrading.

A couple of things I would like to see is a footer the same width as the main body so it does not look stuck on the bottom and no flashing search box (just have a personal hate of websites flashing at me, I normally leave them without reading )

You are welcome to see progress so far of 2.7.1 at my test site http://tulip.kerioak.com

I love the colors and the background image. You have coordinated them so well. I am still deciding on if I want a background image or just leave a header image.

Leo has again done a great job of creating functionality and flexibility.

    Update 2.7.1:

Examples of the new version at work:

    [/list]

Huge control over the “image page” is now available in the customizer area. ALSO you can control rounded corners or not on your minipics. Lots of improvements made around the site for layout and cleanness.

You are all three masters. Good job.

I noticed that you are all using lots of keywords. Is that the recommendation now?

I found that with the update to 2.8, all my CSS and widgets had to be redone. I know you warn about that in the update details, but I think everyone should understand the amount of rework that has to be done after the update. Fortunately I this is just test, so I can refer back to my production site to verify how I want it to look.

If other testers have not found this please let me know so I can determine what caused this at my end.

It appears that the headers are reverse in 2.8.

I apologize for not being smart enough to know how to include a screen shot.

The Header Line appears above the Above Header Line.

I wish I could be of help but my site stats in WebMaster and GA are to low to have any meaningful information at this time. The only visitors I get are Symbiostock members, so I don’t think my information would help you.

I created the info.php file from the other thread and it shows I am running 5.4.2.

Should I downgrade back to 5.3?

David (or anyone else reading that can help), would you please elaborate on this? I’m just dipping my toes into this php stuff and not real clear on what to do.

Here is the direction given from the other thread:

To be sure, what php version you have, create file with

    < ?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>

and put it in root folder. Then call your_site/info.php

    Would the step-by-step instructions be:
Go to my C-Panel and they select the File Manager: YES
    Highlight the root directory: YES
Add a file that has has the info between < and > (including those symbols). Do I create that as a text file on notepad and upload or do I use the New File option right on my file manager page?: In File Manager Use the new file option, and it will create a blank file, then edit the file and insert the above php command. Save the file.

And when it says to “call your_site/info.php” I understand that “your_site” means that I insert my site name there but where do I “call” the site – is that another way of saying I should put http://www.my_site.com/info.php in the search bar as I would put any site url and that calls up the info? YES, it will display the version number that you are looking for.

    Thanks!

See bolded text above. I had never heard of PHP until 4 months ago. So you are doing great.

Yes on Blue Host since May, running WP 3.6.1 Symbiostock 2.6.5 and CleanTheme 2.0

this is the only problem I have encountered with these versions.
