I had voted for on and off, but if that were tied to networking being on or off (and mine is on) then that’d be fine as long as there was some clear policy that this data was not to be sold to anyone or used outside of the group of site owners without our explicit permission.
Good point — I know none of us would be involved in that. But with this system anyone understanding how to work with CSV file could easily monitor your info daily and get symbiostock-specific info for free.
The only remotely sensive info, but which is still public technically, is the IP addresses.
January 31, 2014 at 1:19 am #9036Hi quailrunphotos, nice to see you!
You have 92 posts — if you add your site to your signature you’ll have 92 backlinks 😀 SemmickPhoto reminded me today that that is fairly important.
This system will be largely used by Cascoly – he’s really good at that. But the main site is also going to use various parts of it too. I was hoping to make a network-wide daily update, at the least, on what traffic was experienced where.
Between the three of us (presently 3 anyway) there will most likely be statistics on every site showing most popular keywords accross the network and on your own site.
It helps in intelligence mostly — when your out of the dark you can see where your going! this is really going to open our eyes in terms of the networks strengths and weaknesses.
January 31, 2014 at 1:09 am #9077Wow — second pass — you do a really good job on these news items.
January 31, 2014 at 1:07 am #9076I’m surprised I made the list. My site should be at the top of “Symbiostock’s most neglected” sites! 😛
Great list though — I’ve been browing them myself but can’t keep up now because there is so many.
January 31, 2014 at 12:28 am #9066Fixed, you should have a new version update now.
January 31, 2014 at 12:14 am #9064Great, I’m on it now.
what is an ‘ad-hoc’?January 30, 2014 at 11:59 pm #9062Also let me know if your auto-poster is working for twitter. There’s so many things it manages there’s been a few hickups since I’ve implemented it. its gotten a lot of my attention in the last week.
January 30, 2014 at 11:54 pm #9061I’m working on the twitter feature like crazy. Thanks for showing me — I’ll get right on that.

I don’t think I understand enough to have an informed opinion on this. I did click on your links and I can’t imagine ever spending any time with lists of that sort.
Even for stats junkies I think having some sort of tool to extract something from the mass of data is pretty important.
I’ve looked at every one of Cascoly’s reports on keyword significance and I don’t have a clue about meaning, particularly actionable meaning (i.e. something I might be able to do something about).
Given the population of site owners, even before you get to the privacy issues I think you need to remember us as an audience. I’d hate to see people spend a lot of time on something that none of us could use. I’m a smart person, but I don’t want to spend one second more than necessary looking at stats.
For me, an alexa ranking, the Google webmaster tools, my hosting company’s Awstats are about my level – trends over time; big wins or errors/mistakes, that sort of thing.
On the privacy issue I guess I’d have to hold off on giving an opinion until I understood exactly what I’d be revealing about my site and to whom
These stats are actually for machines to parse and create nice analytics, such as you might see in Google webmaster tools. They are not meant for human viewing…your just getting a glimpse of what powers it.
Similarly, everyone loves networking and global search, but here’s a result on a site as Symbiostock sees it:

I don’t understand it at all. 😯
It does this:
— Helps you see how your keywords are performing.
— Help you see how your showing up accross the network.
— Helps you see who’s coming onto your site, and who may be leaving it.
— Allows you to see live visits (will be shown on separate website)
— Track image views
— Track keyword viewsIts the ultimate network and site gauge for Symbiostock. It will be largely utilized by sites like Cascoly’s and AJTs, and I hope to utilize it as well. Its the similar concept to how Symbiostock’s global search work, but now we get global analytics.
January 30, 2014 at 9:31 pm #9024This is very much appreciated. Thanks as always.
Along the lines of your statements, I’m working hard to put more work into the project in the areas most required.
January 30, 2014 at 2:57 am #8999Thanks — I didn’t know about that one. I’ll keep that in mind.
January 30, 2014 at 1:59 am #8772Are you on the latest version? The problem should be completely fixed.
If you do not mind, I can also go into your admin and try to run the chron job myself, and troubleshoot it. This is extremely important to promotion since these images are searchable (with backlinks) on twitter.
January 30, 2014 at 1:57 am #8775Great, very useful!
Feel free to post a second announcement to this in “news” any way you’d like, since it shows up on everyone’s site as well (and twitter feed of course)
