Php 5.3.x is recommended for Symbiostock, many of us use even 5.4

Is there in Hostgator cpanel any option to change it?

Update:

This error occurs in php up to 5.3, so try to upgrade to 5.4

Meanwhile anyone with php older that 5.4 should not upgrade Symbiostock to 3.1.1

If you cannot upgrade php to 5.4, do this:

1. Take this file and save it somewhere in your computer:

http://www.ajotte.com/interpreter.ph

2. Rename it to interpreter.php

3. Fire your ftp program, connect with your account and go to folder

… /wp-content/themes/symbiostock/inc/classes/network-manager

Upload interpreter.php to this folder, replacing the one that is there.

Could you replace that line 175 to this 3 lines and tell me if it works?

Does this mean that the custom changes some of us did a while back to our No Results Found page are now part of the standard theme? If so, that’s wonderful. If not, can you elaborate a bit please?

I can’t find that topic, but the changes are exactly that we made.

I think that there are only few of my changes, which should be introduced in previous version, but something went wrong and they are now 🙂

– new option in Bee->Network, to switch on/off results from symbiostock.info, when no local result found,
– narrower navigation arrows in network results,
– fixed minor bug (wrong number of promoted keywords in one file),
– if image in network results is clicked, new browser window (or tab) is opened, if image is from networked site, or current browser window is used if it is local image (but shown in network results coming from global search).

Of course I know, that they are different cases, but I mean that if you simply disable hotlinking, ALL sites are excluded, “bad” and “good”.
To enable Symbiostock networking you should then edit your htaccess file (or use plugin/cpanel functions, if you have one) and allow hotlinking for sites that have your site in network. And every time after receiving email with “….. has added you to their site”, you should add this new site to the list and so on. You also should include all search engines in the list. Possible, but too much absorbing for me 🙂
And still someone can grab your thumbnail or preview and upload it somewhere.

I dare say that hotlinking is the main idea of Symbiostock. It allows showing images from network sites. Also my global search uses hotlinks to display thumbnails and hover previews.
