    Currently, if you use the WooCommerce product search widget which adds the “&post_type=product” to the search query, you will not get tag searching with this. It is therefore recommended that you use the base WordPress search for most of your site.

    This is a non-critical WooCommerce issue that we will look into in future releases.

    This is no longer an applicable topic – if you want to configure your product tag searching, just use a third party plugin, of which there are plenty

    Well, this is very important to me and I would need a good search box that can search tags and that can be restricted to certain categories. Any suggestions are welcome. 🙂

    Hi, Adam,

    I use this plugin on my website : https://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/

    it will allow you to index your products tags.

    Thanks for that Chris – I’m closing this thread as it is no longer relevant as the issue is rectified through plugins like the one you mentioned.
