It does seem that photographers have got more creative with their categories than illustrators for some reason

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtNew Categories look terrific! I love the way they work. I also have nested categories. For example the main category “Food | Drink” has subs such as Cooked Food, Drinks, Raw Ingredients, Sweets | Desserts.
I love the previews! It’s a great selling point I think.

The link is on the first page of this thread – if you are using 2.6.5 read about upgrading to 2.7/2.8.* before you do it, there are a lot more changes than other versions madeJust one extra point, while I like this new look a lot, it has made the page very long. So there is a lot of scrolling compared to the simple text page.
I think the sub categories should be nested and hidden until you click on it perhaps. Makes for a shorter scroll.
If it’s possible, reduce the padding on container holding each category so it’s narrower also resulting less scrolling.

I think when we’re done developing this version we’re just going to hop on over to 3.0.
Mostly I worked on the category pages to show hierarchy. You are only allowed to child-down to 1 level. This is mostly due to menu constraints and other practical issues with wordpress.

There have been a few layout improvements. A noticeable one is that “similar images” now center properly.

what happens to the deeper levels of categories? is the original hierarchy maintained, but just displayed differently?
I have a number of 3 levels, and a few 4 levels: eg
-travel
— us
— Utah
— Bryce
— zioni’d already been thinking of moving the US portion out of travel anyway
I cannot see even one child category….In Category People I have subcategories but cannot see them in Header Menu.
