As the microstock industry twists and turns, with agencies dropping prices, squeezing more and more out of contributors, we need to not only think creatively to find our own niche, but also innovate.

Although we offer a $24.99 royalty-free license, our goal with Symzio is to offer low-cost one-time-use licenses for images so that customers find it simple to purchase media, but to also encourage repeat business.

Right now, the market leader, Shutterstock, is actively promoting contributor images for $0.27 each. However, to get those prices, customers need to sign up for hefty monthly subscription plans. This is not ideal for a lot of customers.

Our goal with the $0.99 one time use license is to create a new customer base in bloggers. Right now, bloggers will generally find free images for their posts; paying for them is too arduous, and free images are readily available.

By offering a low cost, one time use option, we create a new type of media purchaser: the daily blogger.

We expect that should we all be successful at promoting Symzio, it will become a natural part of the worldwide blogging process, whereby people will peruse it and purchase an image for a post or article as a one off purchase. As opposed to the current trend, they will use this image once and when they need another image, they’ll buy another one. This results in more sales and more revenue than it would be if this blogger purchased one $10 image once a month.

But it’s not only that – professionals will also be able to use them for social media posts which are now becoming a form of creative daily advertising. Right now, there is no legal and financially reasonable way for the average small business to find and pay for high quality, professional stock media on a random basis.

The one time use license model ensures that our media does not lose its value with every customer on every purchase, as it is a rights managed license; they cannot store it in their repository and use it indefinitely.

With current agencies, being royalty free, you truly are selling images through them. With Symzio, we return to a licensing model where the customer is now truly only purchasing a license; the image and all its value stays with you.
