We often get queries from users asking if Symbiostock will be compatible with the newest version of WooCommerce, or if it is going to be updated soon, or even if it is still under development.

When we first launched Symbiostock, we would update the plugin to match the newest version of all the associated software as soon as it became available. However, we experienced on numerous occasions situations where bugs in WooCommerce releases would result in websites going down, and in order to fix the problem we would have to bundle WooCommerce bug fixes in our own updates to prevent this from happening.

As a result, we decided to focus on stability as a huge priority as Symbiostock is software that a lot of people rely on for their income, and we want to minimize the hiccups that can happen. As well, the traditional software approach is to test thoroughly, then make necessary updates, whereas nowadays new versions seem to be released every week, and unless it is necessary, we don’t follow that methodology.

Therefore, when we periodically do a large update to Symbiostock as is necessary, we test it thoroughly for compatibility with all the new associated software, from WooCommerce to WordPress to PHP. Rest assured that development is always ongoing, and that the bundle Symbiostock currently supports is robust and stable, and functions as expected without issue.

If there are very specific requirements you have that validate a Symbiostock upgrade to the newest version of any given software, don’t hesitate to recommend that to us.

    Thanks!
