ok cool, this is getting close to what I was after. Can I point out a few little issues? Sorry…
First, can the menu’s still be active on hover, rather than click? May need click for mobiles, but a click menu for normal desktop browsing seems pretty outdated.
Second, you’ll notice what I mean in this point if you just grab your browser window and resize it down as small as it will go width-wise. The menu does remain responsive which is good, but two things happen. 1 – the Login/Register part sits off the grey bar, just needs some formatting fix. 2 – the more major problem…with the window resized small, click one of the menu’s and you will see that it just overlays the actual page text below it, creating a huge mess of text.
So its nearly there, but not quite yet.

[/list]First off let me say that this actually “updates” separate from the theme you’ve been using up until now. I think we all need a break from the launching days when things were changing faster than a house of horrors. So I’m going to trickle in the upgrades as you need them. First I approached the important stuff.
Lastly, if you’ve created a child theme and changed only the css, you should be ok. However if you’ve modified templates, you will have to do those over again minding the new version we have here.
The new bootstrap 3 is actually quite advanced, so I’ll be addressing your reminders as you name them.
Cool! I might have to give it a go if I get a chance today or tomorrow.
Q – the bit in bold, does this mean this includes the 100% responsive header/search box now? Can it be kept in ‘normal’ mode and still be 100% responsive and mobile friendly?

That would be a good addition. First I’m trying to get this %100 problem free. In fact, in terms of a typical wordpress theme this is already fairly free. But I have to continue finding every concievable way somebody can break something and address it.
Fair point. I kinda miss the days of you announcing in MSG that a new version is available and it has X, Y, Z features now! But I get that that may have been more fun for the rest of us rather than for you doing the work 😉

The reason I am so keen on this is that Leo has already made the base theme ALMOST responsive, with just a few remaining elements that need work/fixes. So it’s nearly there, but just needs finishing.
Looking at my site analytics, I am getting a handful of mobile device visitors each day and of course, since the site doesn’t function correctly at the moment on mobile devices my bounce rate for these visitors is very high, nearly 80%. You must be getting lots done behind the scenes these days. I can’t wait to see this “complete” version when its ready! I hope it contains my 2 most wanted things…. 100% responsive layout and cookie cart!

yep, too early to tell with sales.
I had one early on, then had a great month of sales in July I think it was, and then nothing since.
So who knows. Early days yet.

What’s going on here is we are finalizing Symbiostock for the long haul. Simplicity, minimal, professional. Out of the box.
We’ve put in the modern bootstrap 3, and along with many other perks the whole theme is 100% responsive, no questions asked.
The objective here is that the theme should be a simple blank slate, with plenty of flexibilty for modification stylewise. On the other hand, with no modifications, it should come off as a no-nonsense simple image store.
Leo, this new responsive theme isn’t quite right yet. On my iPhone 4 (retina I belive) the menu takes up virtually the whole screen and no logo shows up. I think you’re heading in the right direction, but it’s not there yet.
I’m sure you’ve got it under control, but just thought I would mention that another few themes I use (from ThemeForest) have you upload unique logo’s that get used for mobile devices – you upload about 3 different sizes. Then the theme also uses a separate menu altogether for mobile if you want. Not sure if that kind of approach would make things easier for you or not?
Can I say though, i am so glad you are tackling the responsive issue as one of your first things to tick off the list. It is SO important!
