Tweet. Post on Facebook. Give it the spin it deserves: 1. The photo you embed lets Getty track you & everyone visiting your blog and mine for info for their own purposes. 2. The “free” image you embed will soon have an ad appearing in front of it, which people visiting your blog will have to watch. 3. When their holding company sells Getty (which seems inevitable), that image may simply disappear. 4. By paying a small amount at Shutterstock, Symbiostock, Fotolia, etc., you can use the image legally, with no tracking and no ads. And you support the photographers who take these shots for a living.
I see a big P.R. opportunity here for Getty’s competitors and Symbiostock.
Still shocked here. I guess nobody can really evaluate the consequences for us all, but I think you are right Michele: we should use this sh!t in the most positive way we can do. As I’m not a native speaker I would be very happy if you would like to write a P.R. text which we could use all over our network.

What is the advantage of having such info under the image?
Is it just to show the buyer that you’ve the legal documents/authorizations from that image, so the buyer can use it with safety?Exactly that … I think it makes sense to show the buyer that I work within the standards of the industry. Whether they buy an image directly from me or from an agency or even if they buy an image from my site which is not available elsewhere: The buyer can be asured that the quality of the image complies with the standards and they can take it for granted that the images are model released. Vice versa it makes sense to emphasize that images in the category editiorial are not model released.
February 23, 2014 at 10:39 pm #1000015 retweets for my image yesterday … not bad at all … thanks a lot everybody 😀
I think we should continue the game … I’m really curious whether it will result in traffic and sales …February 23, 2014 at 10:32 pm #9908@ivonnewierink wrote:

February 22, 2014 at 8:13 pm #9110Very different music, Classic, Jazz, Independent, even Punk and French Hip Hop 🙂
Right now it’s The Who
Won’t Get Fooled Again
Couldn’t that be part of the “Soundtrack” for Symbiostock 😀

You send copies of the releases to the agencies to prove you have them, they do not send them to clients
That’s right, agencies want to make sure that you have all the rights which are necessary to sell an image but they don’t give the releases to clients (just the information whether an image is released or not).
Are we sure? I was convinced they give the releases. In this case I am wrong.
Once I bought an image from Shutterstock … I just got the image (with a person), but no Model Release.
And I’m sure that if all my images with models sold on agencies had been sold with Model Release there would have been more than one stupid buyer contacting a model … and the model would have contacted me and asked why I give away her contact information.February 22, 2014 at 6:06 pm #9986@redneck wrote:

Thanks, Christine and Perezsanz. I realized that “lock” on my Twitter page meant something, so I went into the settings and switched out of “protected.” It should work now.
Thanks for trying to RT and for letting me know it wasn’t working!
I did the double check: Black-tailed Jackrabbit retweeted 🙂

I’d like that Model Release and Property Release could be downloaded together with the image when a buyer purchases a released image. I hope Leo will make this feature soon.
You really want to give a MR or PR with all the private details to an image buyer? I don’t think this is a good idea and would never ever do that.
Edit: Ooops, Christine was faster 🙂
