Under ‘Fotografie’ you will find my current install of NextGen Gallery. I like the presentation for images that are not really stock. A shame that I have to use two methods/plugins now. NextGen also offers e-commerce, but at the moment the SEO is not good and one can not search for specific images or use the tag system.
October 8, 2015 at 12:56 am #24265I think I’m beginning to see some progress.
Installing W3C and following a tutorial about the best settings for Woocommerce was a disaster. Loading times of pages, backend en frontend, increased to 30 seconds. In the past I have never been very succesfull with this plugin. WP Fastest Cache was what I used until now and I just tried Gator Cache, a pure page caching plugin, and that seems to be very promising. The load time of new images (products) is still a little bit on the long side, but after being opened one time the cache plugin serves the images almost immediately.

You can test it yourself. The first 4 pictures of students I didn’t click on yet.The backend when uploading and converting new jpegs is still very slow. Does this have to do with not having Imagick installed?
October 6, 2015 at 11:08 pm #24254Great :). The alternative way is not so alternative, because that would mean adding one image (= product) at a time. If I understand you correctly, with the next version I can upload a lot of (smaller) images at once, just like I do now, but adding a different licence will disable the download link. Then I will wait patiently ;).
What would ne nice then is to be able to add variations within one ‘licence’, like 40x50cm, 70×100 cm. If not, adding a lot of different licences will do.
October 6, 2015 at 10:49 pm #24252I just encoutered a post/reply where it says that this is not posssible, and that Symbiostock itself will only work with downloads. I wonder if this is true because the only thing needed to add a option for ordering (canvas)prints is to upload a bunch of images in smaller resolution with or without watermarks and have the download disabled. But I’m not a programmer 😉
October 6, 2015 at 10:17 pm #24250Hi Robin. Thanks for explaining. When I have a ‘Licence’ I want to use for ordering prints, will they still get the download link after the purchase? Can I disable the download for a specific licence?
October 6, 2015 at 12:29 am #24216Hi NomadicImagery,
Thanks very much. That explains it. On the notifications page I can see that everything went well.
October 5, 2015 at 7:06 pm #24205Yes, I was thinking about the sandbox not functioning fully as a possible cause, so I will do a live test payment later.
