That is correct. You get a message at the top screen about necessary plugins associated with the theme or you could go to ‘install plugins’ under the ‘appearance’ menu item to install and then activate.

So when I create a test user I have two passwords:
    1) My own chosen password to log on to the frontend website. (I don’t receive this email.)
    2) And a random generated password to logon the backend website (wplogin.php) which has no use to the customer.

Christine, did you put the note in the SymbioStock customer welcome email?

I registered on your website and received the SY welcome email with my own chosen password. I didn’t receive another email with a random password. So it seems that you don’t need your own workaround. 🙂

Meanwhile discovered that my test site is doing well. Compared files between the test and production website. Looked in the database itself. Reinstalled my SY Theme and deleted the email plugin several times. Switched the network on and off. Argh, can’t find the cause. 🙁

I disabled all my plugins and then received the right e-mail! I re-enabled them in groups to find out that the ‘Stop Spammer Registrations Plugin’ is causing it.

I am so stupid! It is always a good idea to disable all your WordPress plugins first when you have a problem. This particular plugin intervenes in the registration process as SY does so I can’t use them both. 😡

My site has a lot of new-user-spam-registrations, that why I installed the plugin.

I get a lot of spam registers, but they’re not a big deal since I have comments turned off, so they can’t do anything – I try to key plugins to a minimum

I am using Anti-Captcha rather than the one you are using. I have comments enabled (I think)

I have comments enabled but it is, strangely enough, not used by this spam users.

I had a regular captcha plugin installed, but that had no effect. I do not know anti-captcha and the technology behind it but it sounds good. Going to try it!

Otherwise, I create a mail rule to auto-trash this registrations.

[Edit] Amazingly small world, this plugin is created by a classmate of mine in elementary school.
