How to make phone field optional on checkout?

Hello everybody,

I’m currently trying to make the phone field optional since AFAIK after German regulations a shop owner is not allowed to force the client to leave their phone number… Does anybody know where to actually make it optional? Thank you! till

ah – got it – it’s actually a woocommerce detail that can be triggered through a few lines of code added to functions.php as described here:

You can also use the built in function in Symbiostock > Settings with the simple checkout threshold.
