It is hard to assign the outcome to the initial registration problem, but I did get him on the site with a changed password, he put an image in the shopping cart ($20) but then failed to purchase and doesn’t respond to my emails, even though I asked nicely about any issues…

Have you seen the WordPress explanation about child themes – it probably will help to understand the background to how they work – then you will have no issues!

Isn’t the dpi in the admin page and on the image page just to indicate the size of the image in its typical use. So the large sizes say how big the image is when printed, the smaller ones indicate what it would look like on a screen.

Unless I am mistaken, there is no need to actually set the dpi at that level – it is a purely virtual setting in a digital image and the buyer can set it to whatever they like – it doesn’t change the pixel size of the image

I totally agree with Christine that you can backup images to your own hard drive (or a separate hard drive) and Filezilla is great for that. My only issue with that is that if you had to rebuild your symbio site, you have a massive amount of data to upload from your home to the webserver. It could be done, but for some, could cause issues with their ISP.

I’ve been trying to come up with an inexpensive way to cut out your home machine by using Google Drive. I think I am 95% of the way there as I find that Mover.io can do an incremental backup and it can be scheduled – hence you could set it to incrementally backup your image folder to Google drive every night. I’m working through a few teething issues but I’m sure it will work.

I then back up all the rest of the folders (except core WordPress) and the database using UpdraftPlus – which again is automated to a schedule.
