Thanks for your tips.
I’ve installed the SQL Executioner and tried both commands but the answer was: Table ‘stockpj0_wor2.wp_postmeta’ doesn’t exist
I don’t know if it was needed to do anything else, but I’ve just installed the plugin, copied the command into the filed with the intended values and pressed “Execute SQL”
I’m using…[Read more]
And they are teaching this to their competition? 😀
Are you sure the objective isn’t to boycott us? 😀
Interesting article. Took a quick look and have to read it with more attention.
Where do you get those stats? I’ve been looking around but could not find anything like that.
I’m in doubt if connecting our agencies accounts to our images authorship is good. If we search a subject in our portfolio together with “stockphotosart”, fotolia is dominant in the image search results and we did not do anything about authorship in…[Read more]
There doesn’t seem to be an immediate solution to this so how about disabling that image and re-uploading it, perhaps with a slightly different title? Would that do it?
Yes, but the indexing made by the search engines so far for the image could be lost. So, we’ll leave it as it is. Eventually, if we can detect the site using it…[Read more]
Of course I know, that they are different cases, but I mean that if you simply disable hotlinking, ALL sites are excluded, “bad” and “good”.
To enable Symbiostock networking you should then edit your htaccess file (or use plugin/cpanel functions, if you have one) and allow hotlinking for sites that have your site in network. And every…
Maybe we should include a section in our licence or site conditions that hotlinking (outside the system) is not permitted and will be counted as a use for which a licence fee plus unauthorised use fee is payable ?
Maybe we can include such a clause, but that will mean very little since I do not believe that people doing it cares…[Read more]
I dare say that hotlinking is the main idea of Symbiostock. It allows showing images from network sites. Also my global search uses hotlinks to display thumbnails and hover previews.
I think we are talking about different things. In the case of Symbiostock the linking between sites works to promote us to the eyes of the search engines…[Read more]
I think that I would like to see just one result set (for both my images and everyone else’s). This would be just like the major agencies. My images would be displayed first of course, followed by everyone else’s.
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
I agree, maybe just creating a thin separation or something between our…[Read more]
Although I do not have 10 sites in my network it feels a bit limited, unless it creates search speed problems.
Where I fully agree is on how the network results are displayed. It would be great to have a single group of images instead of the sliding bars. I think the way it’s shown currently may be confusing for potential buyers not…[Read more]
Just checked my Alexa ranking and I’m at a fabulous 17,391,391! LOL
Well, to be fair my site only has a little more than a week, it’s still missing 8.000 photos and not advertised it yet. 🙂
What I’d like to know is if people around here have an account in alexa, and if it exists a free option since I could not find one.
Or are you just…[Read more]
If this feature stopped working I think it would be a priority to make it work again.
It’s extremely important to have our best work displayed in the first contact between a potential client and our site, otherwise they may not get passed the first page of a category simply because we recently photographed a niche theme thats not appealing to…[Read more]
You’re right, it doesn’t work with categories. But it does work with image search, at least on my site.
I think in my site it’s working in reverse! The 3rd rank is being shown upfront in searches.
Does anyone knows how to change this?
You can “rank” your images from 1 to 3. “Ones” will be shown first.
Actually, that isn’t happening with my categories. I have mine sorted by upload date despite I’ve classified a series of images with Rank 1 and some with 3.
I don’t think that the sort by rank even works in the results of a search.
All is presented by the most…[Read more]
I’m talking about organizing the image order shown to a visitor of our site.
At this moment if someone clicks on a category the first image of all is the last one being uploaded.
What I’d like to know is if we can change this order and organize the display of images according to our choice.
I’m asking this because I’d like to start uploading my…[Read more]
The promoted keywords are in the Network tab in the Symbiostock menu more or less in the middle of the page.
My doubt about adding keywords to this list is if it’s needed to separate them with commas or a space is enough.
Thanks Christine and Jo Ann for your explanations about how the network functions. I thought it just showed the…[Read more]

Hi Michele! Here goes a little introduction about http://www.StockPhotosArt.com
StockPhotosArt.com presents the work of José Elias and Sofia Pereira, a couple dedicated to photography professionally since 2006, offering from product and conceptual Royalty-Free imagery, to travel Rights-Managed photography especially from Portugal (to be…[Read more]
Thanks! I struggled a lot on how to make that front page.
I wanted to showcase some of our work keeping things relatively simple and vibrant, while thinking ahead.
I’ll be adding Travel style images and I thought they would be too disconnected with the RF stuff (especially isolations) in visual terms in a normal image-by-image slideshow.…[Read more]
