Another benefit for contributors, under the branding heading…
Copyrights are not removed from files and replaced with agency’s branding.….. and I believe under the Berne Convention it is illegal to remove embedded data so that is a big plus

~
If possible I would like to see
1. The standard (or first as it might be editorial) licence option selected by default.
2. Instead of the little icon make the actual wording link to the licence – it would be a lot more obvious
3. Licences options stacked underneath each other instead of in a rowWhat I would really really like is
4. ability to set Licences when editing or in bulk editing have an upload date range or something that would make it easier to make use of custom licences.I am not so bothered about having a calculator as this can be done via a variety of custom licences if necessary eg
exclusive for xxx time
exclusive for type of use/range of use
exclusive for time and type of use
contact me for something differenthttp://kerioakimaging.com - trying to reopen

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtSeptember 13, 2013 at 3:04 pm #2516Next question:
What benefits does Symbiostock offer potential contributors that other stock sites do not?
Total autonomy.
We can decide exactly what we wish to include on our site without competing against pictures that were uploaded years ago and getting refused due their having lots of images that may not be as good as the ones we are producing today
We can upload sets
We can include niche subjects
We get 100% of the sale price (less PP fees and taxes)
We do not have to put up with having the goal posts changed in terms of royalty reductions, having to sell more to reach an upper level, having the price reduced because the customer wants it like that, never knowing exactly who has access to our images
We can decide how much to charge (and what uses to permit)What benefits does Symbiostock offer potential buyers that other stock sites do not
Happier artists
Direct contact with the artist if the potential buyer wishes for
edits to image
maybe very similar images that were not uploaded for some reason
variations in the licence agreement (exclusive etc)
no middle man
searching a multitude of individual artist’s sites from one place
many uniquely available images (my whole portfolio is exclusive to my Symbiostock site and and many of the images are new, I know many others have exclusive images as well)
Did I mention happier artists – who are more likely to pass that happiness on by being helpful and giving a personalised service when requiredhttp://kerioakimaging.com - trying to reopen

I jumped in early and have a basic set up but haven’t had time lately to take my site to the next level. One thing I find challenging is keeping up with the changes and possibilities. Amanda’s tutorials are a good place to start but I think what would be a big help would be a couple of downloadable manuals. Perhaps those willing to set up a site would tackle creating a manual.
What I envision is a couple of distinct manuals, one covering just installation and a second one covering the basic info needed such as
. I don’t know about manuals but I am updating and making my tutorial (originally in Symbiostock help page) much more detailed and plan to add all sorts of things to it

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtSeptember 13, 2013 at 12:51 pm #1945Oh Wow – I love the colour! I was originally going to base my site on that sort of shade but thought it might be a bit too loud and detract from the images so went with purple and lilac shades instead

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtSeptember 13, 2013 at 7:38 am #2603I am using standard and extended licensing and after an uploading session am using author options to apply it to all images. Then I am using batch editor to apply the editorial licence to editorial images.
I would like to apply a custom/rm license(s) to images that have never sold but cannot work out a way to do this yet because of having to use the Bee’s apply to all option to make sure I get all images done after uploading.
I put all the licence variations on one page so the default eula links find them.
I was going to ask if anyone had found a more efficient way of doing this?
Thank you for setting up licensing alternatives

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtSeptember 12, 2013 at 8:30 pm #2505Symbiostock is network of individual stock artists many with specialist niches each dealing directly with you, the customer; if you search my site and do not find what you need then results will automatically appear on the page from my network to find you the best image for your needs .

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtSeptember 12, 2013 at 8:07 pm #2500I think for those of use with Paypal Premier and Business accounts people can buy using credit cards and paypal and possibly bank transfers – never done that so not sure. Personal paypal accounts are, I think paypal balance and bank transfer if there is not enough in the PP account only.
Yes, we all have our own licences, I don’t know about other people but I have mentioned that I am willing to be flexible if there is something a client wants.
Target audience, I think you have it covered, but I would put buyers first – maybe for first time type buyers stress how inexpensive (not cheap) it is for anyone to purchase a licence to use an image legally rather than run the risk of a large invoice landing in their inbox if they are found to be using images without a licence
As we can provide anything from one small size image upwards (with the option of collections of images) we can be very flexible for both small and large clients.
For contributors I think the flexibility of the theme, the independence and the helpful community if you need them are all plus points
Thank you for volunteering

Is it OK to point to another site in the network without consulting the other site owner?
definitely, they’ll get an email automatically saying you connected to them
also, we need to encourage everyone to fill in the focus & specialty areas – a large number of these are still blank
They don’t really fit my focus/specialties so I went for the nearest
