Christine, I remember Martha having a problem with her numerous categories not showing up in the menu. I think the reason was that starting with php 5.3 the number is limited by default. It can be changed by some php.ini parameter. Here is the thread you might want to read again:

I tried adding the data to both php.ini and .htaccess separately and together but it did not work. This problem when upgrading was different, instead of losing all (except Home) I only lost some. As it is all the dropdowns are not showing – All, Animals, Food|Drink and Nature should all have dropdowns/sub categories.

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtHmm, I still wonder if that’s somehow related to Martha’s/your earlier problem. What strikes me is that it only happens with PHP 5.3 and later (if I understood your post correctly).
Christine… they were working a little while ago! I think still today. I even replied that I got the pull down menus but now they have turned into static links.
