I looked at my site today on my iPad, but found that the main menu which contains my Places category page and the search icon doesn’t appear anywhere on the screen.

Is this the same with other people’s sites, or just the way I have set mine up? I’m running the latest version of the Symbiostock Express theme.

    Steve,

Did you set up a mobile menu? If not, you should and that will most like fix your issue. Check my site to see if a mobile menu is visible on your iPad. If it is, then we just need to get you setup.

    Hi George

I see yours. In the Symbiostock Express settings (under Menu Settings), I see the option for “Mobile Menu Only Show Button” and I have this set to Yes. Is that the setting you are talking about re the mobile menu?

    Steve,

I created two menus – one I called Primary, and the second I called Mobile.

    In Appearance – > Menus

At the bottom of the pages, use the Menu setting to identify both menus – one as primary and one as mobile location.

Then go to Symbiostock Express – > Menu Settings

Scroll down to Mobile Menu Options and turn on your mobile menu.

Great – I’ve got that now with a few items in the mobile menu, but how do you add a search icon or box to that mobile menu? The theme allows you to add search to the primary menu in its settings.

Although I think I have managed this a different way – I put a search widget in the topbar and so that now appears on my iPad as well as my new mobile menu, so I think I am now covered.

Now I can sit back and wait for the sales!

    Steve,

Sorry for my delay in responding, I was out on a shoot yesterday.

Have you added Advanced Woo Search plugin? I have been using it since reading about it here on the forum. Works great!

And it automatically is added to your menus – if you turn it on in Symbiostock Express -> Menus.

Thanks George – do you set this Make menu search results only products? to Yes?

    Steve,
No, I don’t. But I am using my site as more than just a Symbiostock site. I keep an active blog there, and I am expanding it into my photography assignment business too. So if a visitor comes to my site, I want them to find anything they are looking for – whether that be information about me, one of my books, a blog entry, information about Amish, Symzio, or a Symbiostock image in my catalog.

I thought that was the choice that you make in Symbiostock Express to select the Advanced Woo Search Plugin? Did I misunderstand?

    Steve,

I am not sure. I do remember downloading the plugin, after reading about it on this forum, probably at this post: http://www.symbiostock.org/forums/topic/woo-commerce-2-5/

I’ve been using it ever since install, and it is still in my plugin list.

    George
