OK, a bit new to the SS Pro Plugin, I generated an image sitemap (found under the Stock Images menu item) and submitted it to Google through webmaster tools, and within a couple of days all but one of my over 500 images had been indexed by Google. The sitemap generator page says that “Your image sitemap is updated once every 24 hours.” I’ve since added a few images– since it is “updated once every 24 hours”, and since Google has the url for the sitemap, does that mean that I do NOT have to submit a new sitemap every time I add images, but that Google will pick up on the changes when the sitemap updates automatically?
Correct – Google will pick it up. You can check the last time it did that with webmaster tools but you’ll see the last updated date there update daily unless your site is down
