hi guys, anyone using godaddy for hosting?

I can’t figure out the host i should put in filezilla in order to ftp to my site.

I found the set of username and password but it seems the host info is incorrect?

Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

ok, i tried to put ‘ftp.xxxxx.com[/url:eno49a6w]’ but i didn’t try with ‘ftp://xxxx.com‘, i thought the format should be something like ftp.xxx.com[/url:eno49a6w]?

I mean in Filezilla the field host should be filled only with your domain (mydomain.com). Filezilla will add the “ftp://” automatically.

I have tried that..the server details got a few like ip address, a string of numbers, ftp address – combination of numbers and alphabets like 23a.3e4,myftpupload.com, and hostname, which is just my website..like xxxxx.com

i tried all three it all seems password passed but then

Command: PASS *********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

any other setting? do i need to set a path?

i saw most stock website ftp host is like ftp.xxxxxx.com[/url:cy6gvu5m], but i tried to ftp.mywebsite.com[/url:cy6gvu5m] but same results.

I’m on GoDaddy.

If I remember correctly, you have to create a password for FTP (it is separate from your regular GoDaddy account).

I put the following in FileZilla (in the QuickConnect bar at the top of the screen):

Host: shazamimages.com
Username:
Password:

I then click the QuickConnect button.

i did the same but i got an error..

the username is under godaddy hosting setting..

Response: 331 User xxxxxxxx OK. Password required
Command: PASS ***********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

do you need to set a path or do other setting? kind of helpless, i contact godaddy, all they do is forward me the faq link..

If you are uploading images the exact path for you can be found in the upload area of the All Images (ladybird) within wordpress – it will be something like
/*whateveryourpathis*/public_html/wp-content/plupload/uploads/

/home/content/77/11804577/html/wp-content/plupload/uploads/

this is what i found in my symbiostock wordpress..

but when i ftp i cant ftp to this folder..

Status: Retrieving directory listing…
Command: CWD /home/content/77/11804577/html/wp-content/plupload/uploads
Response: 550 Can’t change directory to /home/content/77/11804577/html/wp-content/plupload/uploads: No such file or directory

I can’t see /public_html/

but i can see the ‘wp-content’, should i browse to the final folder ‘uploads’ and set it as my remote directory?

I would try it – if you can find …….. wp-content/plupload/uploads/ put an image there and then go to process uploads and see if it has landed in the right place (which it should have)
