Has anyone come across this server issue? I’ve migrated my site to a VPS dedicated server and all seemed to have gone well. However, the featured and similar images were missing from the site. I was on WP3.6 and Symbio 2.9.4.
I decided to update to WP3.7.1 and that went fine. I updated the SEO plugin as well. Still no featured or similar images so I decided to try to refresh the theme by activating one of the standard ones, and then tried to activate Symbio. It was at that point that I get the error: Cannot open file: /home/backyay9/public_html/symbiostock_rf/.htaccess
Of course, my site is off the air as well with the same message.
I’m just waiting for support, but wondered if anyone had come across this.

Well, they fixed it – something about cmoding to 755…
I need to ask Bluehost (or someone here) this question so that the new hosts can properly set up PHP: How is PHP is configured on this server? Is it set to DSO, suphp, fastcgi, or rUID?
